@hilsy85: Oh I see! I re-read your first post and I think I misunderstood... I thought you meant certainly don't draw at the park and the sidewalk in front of my house :silly:

Thanks!!! The neighbors in my cul de sac has kids so I am sure they won't mind, but I will only let him draw in front of our house :) Good to know I don't have to worry about cleaning up every time after he draws something!

@irene: I think you would PROBABLY be fine to do it anywhere, but if you don't know your neighbors temperaments and don't know if they would mind, I would stick to your own driveway and the park, just to be safe and avoid any potential confrontation!

The only time I've seen a policy on it was at my college. - we could write all over the sidewalk, no need to clean up, but writing on walls was not allowed. I think you should be fine to not clean it up, but couldn't hurt to check your HOA policies.

I can't imagine this being an issue. CERTAINLY not at the park, and not on the sidewalk in front of your house...possibly a crotchety neighbor could complain if you did it in front of their house but I really doubt it!

LO loves drawing and I bought some sidewalk chalk for him (will give it to him as one of the xmas gifts). The reason was a few weeks ago he saw our neighbors' kids drawing outside with sidewalk chalk, and he stood there and wouldn't leave. I think he would have great fun with it if he has some.

I wanted to take some on an upcoming road trip, and we may draw at the park or something. However, I wonder if that's actually legal? Do we have to clean up the drawing afterwards? Or is it not necessary? Or should I not try I may get arrested?

Even if we are just drawing in the neighborhood, do we have to clean up afterwards? How do you clean up sidewalk chalk, do you just hose it down? And how do you clean up if you don't have a hose (eg. in a park)? I don't ever remember my neighbors cleaning up their own driveway but the drawings are somehow gone.

I thought about emailing our home owners association but that's just plain silly. So I bring my silliness here first lol. Thoughts?

We go about once a week. Lo isn't really at the age where she can play on the playground yet, she just likes to walk around (with my assistance) and it gives us something to do.

I'm in this weird area where it's city-ish but suburb-ish too. Coming from Manhattan though, I consider it the 'burbs. I can walk them to a park though. It's one of the reasons we chose the area.

My goal is to take them once a week. I usually meet that goal... Last week we we twice, but there are some weeks we don't go at all too. I really try to though... In NYC, we literally went 5-7 times a week... We had three playgrounds within a 5 min walk from us, with one across the street from DD's school and another right across the street from our apt. Totally miss that!

I can see a difference in my kids after they go to a park... They love it and are less cranky in the evenings.

Once every couple weeks. Until he can climb with confidence, playgrounds are not super-fun. I'm sure we'll go at least a couple times a week when he can really enjoy it.

We usually go to a state park instead of the playground--it's beautiful there, the playground is about the same distance away (both require getting in the car), and we have an annual pass. We go on average once or twice a week. We also go to the local parks and ball fields regularly. I view the playground more as a place to really run LO down fast. ;)

LO is still a little too young for the playground, but there's one a five minute walk away that we'll visit often. Now we meet friends there every other week or so.

Not much now that it is cold. She goes to daycare and they are still on the playground 2x a day, though. In warm weather, we usually take her on the weekends to a neighborhood playground. There is one within walking distance that she likes.

When it is cold, we hit up indoor play gyms.

We live within a few miles of a great city playground. Actually one of the top parks in America. But we hardly ever go! I try to take her on Saturdays but sometimes its busy. I wish we had a park within walking distance we could go to on the week nights.

How often do you go to the playground?
