@sungirl: my zoo is also no straws but paper straws are fine. And oh crap. I just bought two boxes of honest juice and completely forgot about the straw rule. 😁

@Mamaof2: good idea...i might even be able to find some cute ones on oriental trading
@tinyperson: She just said no balloons and straws because of choking hazards, but I can call back and ask about paper

@sungirl: Is it because of the plastic? Our zoo uses paper straws, so maybe you could find out if those would be ok...

@sungirl: how about disposable coffee cups - they have little cut outs in the lid

We just booked DS's 2 year old birthday party at the zoo. I usually get juice boxes for kid's drinks, but we are not allowed to have straws. I guess I could do cups but I just see a big mess. Love to hear your ideas!

So I have to bring an appetizer for a ladies night out event (the actual meal is being catered) tomorrow. I want to bring something that can be served at room temperature as there is no way to keep it hot.
My other issue is everything I find is more dessert related. I already have phyllo pastry and would like to make little cups with the pastry and fill them.
So would it be ok to bring a sweet appetizer (like this http://www.rachelcooks.com/2012/11/21/mini-pumpkin-tarts-seriously-easy/ ) or does anyone have a suggestion?
