@MapleMoose: Hmm. I'm not sure they make this distinction on honey roasted, I have a can that I am ready to make into peanut butter and it doesn't say either way.

@tigger223: I hear ya about it not lasting! Do you use unsalted honey roasted (is there even such a thing)?

I make mine with dry roasted or honey roasted peanuts. I highly recommend trying honey roasted peanuts. I also just put the peanuts by themselves into the food processor. I store mine on the counter top, and I wish I could tell you how long it lasts but we always eat it all up before it has any chance of going bad. I made some for my sis and she said hers lasted a couple months.

I do! I buy unsalted peanuts and dump them in the food processor. Let it go for a few minutes (after the ball stage it smoothes out). I do not add anything to it. Just peanuts. I keep it in the fridge and it lasts awhile. I make ~6-8oz at a time. R and I looooove it! Best of all it doesn't get all oily and need to be stirred. Hope this helps!

Does the peanut grinding machine at Whole Foods count? :) FWIW, all that is in there are salted peanuts, and I don't store it in the fridge.

What's your recipe? Do you use peanut oil? One recipe I found calls for unsalted peanuts and sea salt. The other recipe calls for peanuts and peanut oil.
Do you store it in the fridge? How long does it stay good?
