My husband plays piano and if our kids like playing &amp; play well I'm sure he'll get them a real piano- most likely an upright though.</p> <p>I used to babysit for a family that had a baby grand in their den. DH is a musician and while piano isn't his primary instrument, he knows how to play. He insisted on getting one soon after we bought our house and kept checking Craigslist -- he went to see a few he didn't end up liking and then found this one. It takes up a ton of space but it makes him happy, and DD loves it too. DH bought it before we met, and I tell him it's why I married him (he's a musician, but we both play). It is big and loud, but amazingly DD (13 mos) doesn't wake up when he plays after her bedtime. It's an electric, full size that can play different instruments like grand piano, electric piano, harpsichord, organ, etc. It also allows you to change the volume so I can play quietly if DS is sleeping or record my playing and have it play it back to me.
