We did Claires--their highest gold option with LO---because of I wanted to avoid my own problems with sensitivity and nightmarish piercing past as a kid. She refused to take her off her starts for years because we unintentionally scared her to death with the earring cleaning/preventing infection video on Claire's website. So she finally let me change her earrings for the first time two nights ago when she lost a backing in the bounce house!! Early Christmas present. I loved her Claire's earrings but the new ones are a breath of fresh air. I went with coated 14k for her second pair. We'll see how it goes. I was going to wait until my daughter did the same, but here in Mexico they usually do it at birth so I kept an open mind, and we had them do it at the hospital when she was less than three days old. At this age she doesn't touch her ears and we don't even have to clean them or anything. I can't believe I had such a 180 on this but now I think she looks great and everyone knows she's a girl.
