She said this is really early to even say that's what I have and it's likely to resolve and not to worry about it at all right now (i.e. no pelvic rest or anything). They will just monitor it for now and see if it resolves. I was basically told to prepare for a C-section. I had an u/s about every 4 weeks and by 36 weeks it had resolved enough that I was cleared for a vaginal birth. I didn't ever have any bleeding, but they warned me to be on the look out for it. I was on pelvic rest as well as limited in the amount that I could exercise. I recall they mentioned it at my 12 week appt and again at my anatomy scan. I got another ultrasound around 32 weeks and by then it had resolved. My OB said 2cm clearance was needed? I was placed on modified bedrest, pelvic rest, and I've been on a medical leave from work (I teach). I take progesterone since the bleeding puts you at risk for preterm labor.</p> <p>My placenta started to move @ 28 weeks. First it moved to a marginal previa, and at @31 weeks it became a low-lying previa. I'm 34 weeks now and I believe my placenta is @2.5 cm from my cervix. My next appointment at 36 weeks will determine whether I'll schedule a c-section or be cleared for a vaginal birth.</p> <p>I know it's scary, especially when you read the Internet about the condition. Most previas do resolve themselves, although complete previas are less likely to move. </p> <p>I've just try to take everything as it comes and pray for a healthy baby (as close to full term as possible)! It was diagnosed at 17 weeks and I had frequent appointments and ultrasounds after that. I had 2 bleeding episodes and I was put on hospital bed rest for a few days at 35 weeks after the second time. My drs decided it was too risky to continue with my pregnancy and LO was born by RCS at 36 weeks. What prompted the ultrasound/diagnosis was bleeding like a super light period for a couple of days. I found that if I had a day when I was on my feet a lot, I would bleed a little on those days, too. I'd had some breakthrough bleeding. I was told to do pelvic rest (no sex), but no need for bed rest. It resolved itself about 6-8 weeks later.</p> <p>Because of the previa, and because I had HG, our OB had us do ultrasounds every 2-3 weeks, so that was a bonus!</p> <p>Don't let it scare you! Baby looked great (yay!) but the preliminary report I was given says placenta appears previa. I haven't been able to speak to my doctor yet, prob won't till next week, so I don't know if it's complete or partial or what the status is. But I was wondering, for those who also received this diagnosis, did yours resolve itself? Most cases I've read have been diagnosed quite a bit later, after heavier bleeds, or the 20 weeks ultrasound (I am just shy of 14 wks)... so I don't know what it means to find it earlier. Hoping it will resolve itself because of course, I've now turned to Google, who has scared me.</p> <p>Appreciate any experiences you can share if you've been through it! Thanks! </p>
