My insurance covered it at 33 with no problem. My doctor just said he writes some diagnostic bs to get them to cover it  He's the greatest lol

@lioneyes: I was pregnant once at 34 and would have had the baby before I turned 35. I lost that baby to a m/c and got pregnant again at 35, delivering at 36. My ob said that the age at delivery is what determines if you are advanced maternal age. Hope that helps!

@lioneyes: My practice has a "deal" with Maternity21 and even when I was younger than 34, I got to get the test for just $200. But then for my second pregnancy, I was 34 turning 35 before the baby was born, so I got it for free. I would just ask your doctor. They should know.

I was marked as "elderly" in my paperwork even though I was still 34 when I was pregnant. The initial paperwork asked what age I would be when the baby was born.

With Verifi, MaterniT21, etc. I know the price is often covered under insurance if you're over 35. Does anyone know if this means you have to be 35+ to have the tests at a reduced costs, or if it counts if you will be 35 when the baby is born? Just a thought that it could be a huge difference in costs when it's only a difference of a few months!
