My doctor was very specific about NOT taking it at night and taking it in the morning with food. Maybe that helps? Or maybe it's because I'm taking a lower dose? Once he didn't and he had a prednisone induced psychosis! Not to scare anyone but when his asthma is bad (like he needs to go to the ER bad), prednisone will help him breath and keep him from dying. Like I said, the good outweighs the bad for him. It's life &amp; death for him sometimes. Luckily, his asthma has been fairly under control with the diagnosis of triggers and the use of other medications, so his prednisone use has gone down. It's still a go-to medicine when he is on the brink of going to the ER. It might prevent him from going to the ER, but sometimes his asthma is so bad he needs to go and no amount of oral prednisone will help. It was misery.</p> <p>My father was on it for 21 years, and I seriously do not know how he managed it. He's on it off and on. I don't know what dose you're on, but at his worse, DH was on 60 mg a day! Dr say it's an old &amp; established drug that works, but it's like a hammer. It treats &amp; helps what it's meant for but also disrupts everything else. Usually the good outweighs the bad effects. Hopefully you'll be off it soon. Hope you feel better soon.</p> <p>ETA: Ugh, I asked DH. He was at 160 mg! I'm also super tired. I guess it's all normal, but there is no way I can work like this...luckily my classes are only in the morning right now. </p>
