Hang in there, Bee!! I can't imagine having to go back and forth like that. I basically lived in my bed for the whole first month. I expected to be up and about 2 weeks after delivery, but that's when I had the complications and had to start recover all over again. Good luck... thinking of you and little Olive!

i have to pump a lot today so she has enough milk for her overnight feedings. i'm at the hospital all day today and will go home in the evening maybe around 8. mr. bee will probably return to the hospital late tonight to bring one last batch of milk.

i've been hanging out in the hospital lounge or the uv treatment room all day the past 4 days. i'm sure i'd be feeling better if i were at home this entire time though!

Hope you feel better soon, Bee. So sorry you're still not starting to feel better. I guess for the rest of us that haven't had babies before and are planning on vb, it's useful information. Be prepared to be really sore...

Are you going to drive from home to the hospital for feedings until you can pick her up (hopefully) tomorrow?

Feel better Bee! I had a *rough* recovery from VB and thought it was just me seeing a lot of women being fine on Day 3. You will feel better when you get home, I'm sure. It probably took me 10 days to be without pain down there.

the doctor wants olive to stay one more day, so we're here til tomorrow morning. the hotel has no more rooms so i think i will have to go home today.

olive is currently 4lbs 12oz, so 3 oz away from her birth weight.

i thought i would be back to normal by now, but still on a looooong, slooooow road to recovery. by this time with the c section, i was blogging away (the percocet really helped me manage my pain, but nothing i do seems to help with the soreness this time around).

i spent the day with charlie yesterday though and he is having a blast with grandma! i just can't wait to be home for good though...

olive's temp stabilized last night, but her bilirubin levels came back up so she's under the uv lights for another day. phew what an emotional rollercoaster because we've expected to go home for three days, and with each test we have to stay longer.

she is 4 lbs 11 oz right now though, so still such a peanut! but eating well and getting stronger with each passing day.

thanks so much for your words of support! still feeling as bad, if not worse since the first day. looks like a long recovery ahead!

Hang in there Bee!! I second the Sitz Baths (warm water for at least 10 min once a day) and Benzocaine sprays... they helped me so much with my recovery. Try not to be on your feet so much if you can help it...

Hang in there, and please take it easy! A good friend has had both c-section and vaginal deliveries, and she tells me that the recovery for the c-section was actually easier for her. (So I guess it really does depend on the person and the circumstances.) Keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers!

Oh, Bee! I can't imagine all the walking you're doing! I had a vaginal birth that resulted in several stitches and giant hemorrhoids and just being alive hurt...The uterus contractions go away gradually but even at 10 weeks post-partum, I still get them every now and then. Get LOTS of rest and soon everything will begin to feel better.

That sounds miserable Bee. Make sure you're getting some sleep in between. Maybe this is TMI, but nothing relieved the swelling and pain down there like a warm "sitz bath." Did they give you one at the hospital? If not you can order one cheap online. I also used a lot of benzocaine spray. Hoping you and the littlest bee get to go home soon...

i'm no expert since i've never experienced it, but i think it's because of all the back and forth from the hotel and the hospital and you weren't able to really relax and rest. hopefully, you'll feel better when you're finally home!

Olive is having trouble regulating her body temp so we're here another day. It's not something we can control just by keeping her warm, so staying another day is our best bet. She'll be 36 weeks old tomorrow.

I'm in a lot more pain now from walking back and forth from the hotel (approx 5 blocks so have been taking cabs, but still a lot of walking). It's pretty miserable and I can't wait to get home. My milk still hasn't come in but I'm producing enough colostrum for all of her feedings. Just exhausted though. Everything is sore down there, lots of cramps from uterus contracting, headaches... Recovery from vaginal birth is turning out to be harder than expected....
