I took them for a while when I was super sick during the first and part of second trimesters and they were the only ones I could (mostly) keep down. Now, I just take a regular multi. I asked my doc if it was really necessary to take double the amounts of regular vitamins in a prenatal, and she said no as long as I'm getting enough folic acid. I eat a ton of bread and cereal, so the folic acid component is under control :) Some people think it isn't necessary to supplement with vitamins at all. I do just to be on the safe side, but I would say the gummies are fine if that's what you can take.

I used the gummies for a while, but I haven't been able to eat a lot of sweet stuff & when I started dreading having to put those in my mouth b/c they were too sweet, I stopped taking them. I use your life multi prenatal & while they're those huge pills, they have a super slick coating & also smell {relatively} good, which a lot don't. so I'm able to get em down.

Well this explains why I was low on iron! I ended up taking an iron pill though.

I used them because I'm awful at swallowing pills. Although it wasn't easy to take those either because like @tana_bk said they're pretty gross.

For prenatal vitamins, I don't use the vitafusion brand but I use the Target brand one. I did worry about gummies not having iron in it but I started this thread. http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/does-your-prenatal-vitamin-contain-iron

I heard they don't have iron in any gummy vitamins because of the possibility of kids getting to them and being fatal to them if they take too many.

We do have the vitafusion mult-vitamin. My husband takes them.

I've been taking the vitafusion gummies for over a year now. I love them. I don't care about them not having iron since I get enough iron thru diet, but if I didn't I would take an iron supplement. I love the taste and I have such trouble swallowing giant pills so that is why I selected these!

@mrsjazz: Yep, no iron, low DHA amount, and calcium I believe. I just felt that they weren't doing anything for me to get my body ready for pregnancy. I went back to my Trader Joe's Fish Oil pill when I started Rainbow Light. I've always gotten them cheap at Target too. I grabbed extra folic acid for when I drink green tea, but my doctor told that it wasn't necessary.

I used to take those until my husband bought me some other brand for some reason. A nutritionist once told me that gummy vitamins are absorbed more effectively than pill vitamins.

One thing to note about the vitafusion is that I don't think they have any iron or calcium so you should look into taking seperate iron and calcium supplements.

Rainbow Light brand prenatals are very easy on the stomach, and if you get the “petite” sized pills, the pills are pretty manageably sized (you have to take 3 vs. 1 pill a day, but they are easier to take than a big horsepill!).

If your main concern is folic acid levels, you could just take a folic acid supplement instead of a multi-vit prenatal. I take Nature’s something brand, and the pills are very small. I take 2 at once and have no issues either taking them or with nausea.

I love love love these gummies. You take 2 per day so if you are really sensitive you can take one in the morning and one at night. They also don't have any artificial dyes or coloring. The only thing I noticed is that they do not have a lot of iron in them so you may need an additional iron supplement.

I had them and my midwife asked me to get something better as soon as I could keep something more down. I ended up getting these Spring Valley prenatal vitamins from walmart, they have more good stuff and they actually aren't that hard to take. I have had major problems with nausea too and they have a coating that makes them so you can't really smell them, they aren't that huge and for me they were actually easier to handle than the gummies.

I was wondering if anyone else uses or has used the VitaFusion Prenatal Gummies.
I have an impossible time trying to get down the giant horse pills that most prenatal vitamins are (I've only just recently learned to even get any pills down), and I have issues with nausea as well.

It seems like the gummies would make them easier to take and keep down, but I've heard a few bad reviews about the actual content of these vitamins.

I can't exactly ask my doctor either, since I'm currently living overseas in a third world country and I just was planning on taking these for pre-TCC until I get back to the states and get an actual doctor.

Any thoughts?
