@LAZB: thank you!

@Iced Tea: we debated taking long term disability. Although, I’ve heard that the pump is pretty cumbersome for daily activities too.

Yesterday, my midwife decided to put me on a Reglan pump for my hyperemesis. The Bonjesta and zofran three times a day aren’t helping at all. They said a home health nurse will be coming to my house next week. Any and all experiences appreciated.

I currently have two Medela PIS, so I thought I'd try something different this time. I was planning on going with the Spectra because I've seen that a lot of people really like them, but then I just saw my insurance will also cover the Freemie Hands Free Delux Pump. Which one would you go with?

Not sure if this has been posted already but I just found an adapter from Maymom for the Spectra pump to use with Medela pump parts.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014O8AFB2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

Unfortunately the adapter isn't sold individually but I still thought it was worth it because the flanges fit Medela bottles.

I previously had the Medela PISA and had a ton of flanges for Medela parts. I had hacked the Spectra to use with Medela parts but the tubing would fall out.

I've always had a PISA and no, I haven't had to switch. I got a Medela personal double electric from my insurance (equivalent to a regular Pump In Style, not advanced) and used it a couple of times but I like the PISA more. The insurance version only has three suction settings and no letdown button.

OMG NO I do not love pumping. :) But I do what I can to provide my baby her meals!

Awww, sorry you have to return your rental!

I don't love or hate pumping. Sometimes I get sore and so I hate that, but I like the break in my day and how it's a set time where I can relax to pump!

I have two pumps. My original is the Avent Double Electric Breast Pump and my second is a Medela PISA. I originally didn't like the Avent and finally went through my insurance to get a PISA, thinking it was going to be so much better. Now that I have both, I realize how awesome my Avent one really is! It's sooooooo much more comfortable with pump with (the petal cushion inserts are AMAZING). I use the PISA at work and the Avent at home, so I use both daily, but I definitely like the Avent better (though they seem equally as efficient).

I also love pumping!! (I think we are definitely in the minority, haha).

My supply dropped last week after I got the flu and now I'm only outputting 1/2 of what I used to. I've EPed since the beginning and am just shy of my 6 month goal (LO is 5 months). Last night I looked at my pump and got really sad...like I know I'm going to be saying goodbye to a good friend soon, haha. DH thinks I'm crazy bc all I did in the first couple of weeks was complain about the pump!

Hope your new pump is just as good as your old :)

I've been eping since LO was born 4 weeks ago. Honestly, I love it. But I've had a hospital grade pump that we rented. It's due back today, and I'll be using my Hygeia from now on :(

It works the same and is just as efficient, but it's much louder. Such a shame! I need to work on dampening the sound.

Anyone else have to switch? Did you love pumping?

My job provides a Symphony, and I loooooove it. It is a million times more comfortable than the PIS. I get a *tiny* bit more from the Symphony, but nothing crazy. Its so nice not to have to lug a pump back and forth. I just bring a PackIt cooler with my bottles, tubing, flanges, and connectors.

The one caveat - you have to buy the special tubing with caps for the Symphony, and the kit is about $69. But if you decide to rent it, I have a brand new spare set of Symphony tubing that I will send you for shipping only :)

I have the Medela PIS. I am thinking about renting a Symphony to leave at work and the the PIS at home. If you used both (or had a regular electric pump and rented a hospital grade), what was the difference for you in terms of comfort and output. Is it worth it to not have to lug a pump to and from work?
