No one has asked me if it was planned yet, but someone asked my DH. I'm not really showing yet so I anticipate the rude questions and comments will start coming once I pop out a little more.

So far the worst thing I've gotten is from a superior at work. When I announced she was nothing but happy and excited for me, but made a comment that she wasn't suprised because it made her suspicious that I was out for surgery early last year. Umm.. I told you what the surgery was for and it had nothing to do with getting pregnant. It sounds like she thinks I was lying or something which I think was rude to insinuate!

Only 14+ weeks along Im hardly showing. I had to be put on light duty the second we found out because I work in a jail and cant risk having to get physical with an inmate. A coworker , young 20 something who has obviously never been around a pregnant woman from early in their pregnancy kept "joking" that I am obviously faking to get out of doing anything because Im not showing yet at all... oh and that I was just faking throwing up because normal pregnant women never puke that much or often...

Now I can't stop thinking, "Why am I not growing???" Great. Just what I needed. One more thing to stress about! Jerk.

I got all kinds of nice questions/comments when I was pregnant with my twins:

1. Are you sure there are only two? I mean another could be hiding and it would be hard to see in an ultrasound.
Yes! After MULTIPLE ultrasounds I'm sure we've found them all! :)

2. Are you nervous? Having twins has got to be hard. I'm glad its you and not me.
Yes, of course I'm nervous, but honestly I'm glad its me and not you too!

3. Are they natural?
Nope, I think they might be aliens. If you are asking if we used IVF, no we did not and I don't see why it matters.

4. What? You didn't have a C-section? I thought you HAD to with twins.
Apparently you dont, because I remember their delivery quite vividly!

I do think a lot of times people are just curious about pregnancy. Its such an interesting and fascinating faze of life, they just need to learn how to be respectful about the questions they ask!

People ALWAYS asked if twins run in my family, and I know its because they want to know how they were conceived. I've taken to simply saying, "Nope! They're IVF kids!" People tend to shut up at my bluntness. I have to say, at this point, I prefer it if people just ask if we used IVF. Most people also asked how I delivered them, and seem shocked when they find out it wasn't a c-section.

I got asked if I was faking morning sickness. According to this person (who had never held a baby in her life or ever been around a pregnant person and was apparently an expert) morning sickness shouldn't last from week 6 til week 17 and it shouldn't mean throwing up everyday. Um, ok? Oh and since it was "morning" sickness, it shouldn't last all day.

@Mrs. Pen: yeah definitely but I think there are higher instances of identical twins without the use of fertility drugs since some fertility drugs result in the releasing of multiple eggs... That's kind of where my thought process was with whether or not the question was rude/pertained to using fertility drugs.

I get the was it planned question constantly. I hate hate hate it.

I'm 22 yes, but I'm also married, a CPA and have been for 2 years and own a large home. If I were unmarried, lacked a stable source of income, and lived in a tiny apartment with a couple of roommates or something, then I could almost understand why someone would ask. But everyone who has asked knows me, knows DH and I have been together nearly 5 years and married almost 2 and that DH is 11 years older than me. Why on earth would anyone wonder? What's even more irritating is that it comes from the same annoying people who have been on my case for 2 years to start having kids.

I'm thoroughly convinced that you. Just. Can't. Win.

I've been asked twice so far if the pregnancy was planned - which I know is quite common but it still shocked me when it happened!! I was also asked (by my childfree-by-choice friend who hates babies and has a "phobia" of pregnant women apparently) if I had been pressured into it by my DH and if I was really sure I wanted a baby. Erm.....!
