Reaction to sunscreen? Is it itchy? Lo gets a rash like this on her chest and upper arms when it's very hot and she's wearing sunscreen. I've tried different sunscreens and it still happens from time to time so I haven't been able to work out whether it's just from heat or sunscreen or a combo of the two. I usually wipe her down with a cool wash cloth as soon as I notice it, then make sure she gets a bath that night and make sure all the areas are thoroughly cleaned. Sometimes I put on baby eczema lotion but that's more because she's complaining of it being itchy. Takes a few days before it goes away completely.

@Mrs.KMM: My DD has the same thing. The doctor said it was yeast from being moist and closed up all the time. She told us to put Clotrimazole cream which you can find in a small tube in the athletes foot section.

my son had that at four months. it was a yeast infection from being constantly wet, in his case from trapped drool. i think the doctor prescribed nystatin, and recommended more tummy time and keeping it clean and dry.

Does she drool a lot? My LO had that a lot from her drool getting trapped in her neck folds and not getting aired out. :) if it's not bothering her, I agree with the suggestion to try keeping it dry for a little bit and seeing if it helps.

Eczema? My LO had that behind his knees when he was a baby. Cetaphil mixed with hydrocortisone did the trick. Also keeping it dry like pp said - so I would straighten his legs and elevate it on a pillow when he napped so the back of his knees got some air and wasn't bent and sweaty. That's kind of tough on the neck though. My niece had this on her neck and my cousin said when she started rolling and doing more tummy time it got a bit better.

So I just noticed that DD (3 months old) has a really bad looking rash on the "inside" of her neck roll (she's a chunky baby  ). It doesn't seem to hurt her when I touch it but it looks really angry.

Anyone else have a LO get something like this? It looks like a ligature mark! Any recommendations on what might help it get better?

I agree with @Ifyoulikepinacoladas it looks like the stork marks to me. My youngest has it on both her eye lids, and my older daughter has it on her forehead and nose. I can try and take a pic of my one daughters eye and show you, but she's awake right now and it's only visible if her eyes are closed. It pretty much looks the exact same as that though.

no more yeast neck rash, we don't have thrush and his eyelids are not crusty and red and bumpy and gross. i know it bothers mama cause it's aesthetically displeasing but i was also convinced that when it would get that angry red or he woukd start fussing, the discomfort of any kind of rash was part of the cause.

@BabyBoecksMom: no his dr said to me it definitely wasnt. i have considered milk/drool rash (which i think he gets on his chin nowadays) or a slight dairy intolerance. have cut back on dairy and surprise, the eyelid and under eye rash is no more. it was definitely raised and bumpy. never thought i would go without ice cream and yogurt, damn. now he just gets what looks like little pimples on his chin from drooling so dang much and rubbing his face constantly on my boob. just an update for anyone who may come across this desperate for answers (aka me the past few weeks!!) have been wiping his face or patting it with a warm or cold washcloth (got a 20pk on amazon wooo) to keep it from getting nasty and by bedtime it's usually gone.
