I remember my DD rejecting bottles at different times. I never figured out why, but I would keep offering, and she eventually took them.

My son started fighting his bottles pretty badly around 9 months. We were on 4 bottles a day and while I prepped 6oz bottles, he would barely take 3-4oz each feeding. I asked my ped and she said while he was earlier than most , he was on the right track for weaning. She told me to shoot for 16oz a day and that by 12 months if he was taking 8-12oz that was fine if he was eating cheese and yogurt. I just tried to leave out straw cups of water where he played so he always stayed hydrated and he just naturally stepped down to smaller and smaller bottles. By 12 months, he took a 2-3oz bottles four times a day, then dropped the other bottles each week and by 13 months we were done and fully on straw cups with WCM.

My 10 month old is in Leap 7 according to the Wonder Weeks app and he's doing all kinds of goofy stuff lately. His naps are all over the place, he's had night wakings at various times, etc.

The one thing I can't figure out is his bottle rejection. He recently started using a straw cup for water at meal times and its going great. He's very active and he has become soooo disinterested in drinking his bottle lately. He has been taking 8 ounces of formula, 3 times a day. He was always squirmy but the past few days he will literally cry (tantrum?) when I try to hold him on my lap and feed him a bottle before bed. He just wants to wriggle free and crawl around!

I know some of it is because he's been overtired. He won't hold his own bottle, either. He will drink it while standing up sometimes, which is super annoying. I tried giving formula in the straw cup a couple of times but he wasn't interested. Today he only drank 1 ounce of his bottle before I gave up and put him down for his nap, but he woke after only 1 hour when he normally sleeps for 2. Then he drank a little more.

Do older babies drop down to 2 bottles at some point? He was doing this a lot right before he dropped from 2 to 3. He's a pretty good eater and I've been encouraging water due to constipation, so maybe he's just not as hungry/thirsty?
