Mine are both white gold (we got the e-ring from a local jeweler, but my band from overstock.com) and they'll dip the e-ring for free. I've had it done twice and I got married in March 2009... so I just do it when I think it looks too "yellow."

I had mine done twice during our engagement. Only because FIL's best friend owns the shop that we bought all the rings from. I haven't had it done since the wedding (2 years in three weeks). So I really need to get it done but I don't want to pay for it! But since the shop is 4 hours away and every time we go to visit we can't make it, I need to suck it up and go.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: That is how mine is looking now and I hate it. Actually when I was at the jewelers yesterday buying a different ring I wanted mine redipped but the lady rushed us along. Now I am super mad and regretting it. Ugh I hate salespeople!

I have had it re-Rhodium plated twice. It cost $25.
It looks awesome after I do it, and I think I will be needing to do it again here soon... it starts to get yellow on the underside.

@tororojo: Or just when it looks discolored, the jeweler I saw yesterday said it depends on how your skin wears the ring. Can you call the jeweler and ask?

My e-ring is platinum but my wedding ring is WG so I will probably take it to get dipped soon. My ring is only a little over a year old but when it's up against the platinum, you can see the yellowing a little more.

Like @anonysquire (your rings are GORGEOUS, btw!) I was quoted about $30 and a few hours of time.

@anonysquire: Every 6 months?! Yikes, that seems like a lot. If it's in the $30ish range I would take them in in a heartbeat but I'm scared it will be a bigger investment. The jewelry store we got them from is like an hour drive away or I would just swing by and check.

My wedding ring and engagement ring are both white gold. My wedding ring has a warranty so Jareds jewelers will dip it for free and dip the engagement ring for $30. They said it takes 3 hours. I haven't had it done yet but they said I should have it done every 6 months.

Mine are! I also heard about the rhodium plating thing too, but I am not sure how it works.

Here are mine (with DH's):

I have a white gold e-ring and wedding band. Have been wearing the band for 1.5 yrs and the e-ring for almost 2 yrs, and they are starting to get a little discolored on the side that faces my palm. I have read that with white gold, you have to get the rhodium coating redone every so often and I'm wondering what that will entail...has anyone done this? How long did it take? How much did it cost? How long did you wear your rings before it became necessary? (I'm sure all these things vary by ring/jeweler) The discoloration is pretty slight at the moment and the part of the ring that faces out is all diamonds, so I don't think it will ever be a noticeable sight, but I miss my shiny new rings!

I don't put pics on my work computer, but my rings look similar to this set: http://www.bennionjewelers.com/?cat=5&product=85 except for the band is twisted all the way around, like this set: http://www.tacori.com/news/tag/tacori-wedding-ring-set/ (half of both rings are covered with diamonds, half is just twisty white gold)
