I joined a fb b/s/t page and got mine off there. I didn't know what to look for, so when I found a print I liked, I posted the description on my local babywearing group and asked questions there. ( would it work for a nb and toddler, will it be ok for our weather, what's the shoulder style mean, etc.) it's a wcrs and I really like it. It has a hybrid shoulder which I find really comfy. I also have a sewfunky rs, I think it has a pleated shoulder, but I don't like it as much.

I have a Maya wrap, a SBP linen sling, and am looking at a Sakura Bloom silk.
The Maya's are easy to get (amazon) and comfy. I really like having the tail pocket but the fabric can be a bit warm.

I have a linen ring sling by sleeping baby. I love it, although it's my only ring sling so I don't have anything to compare it too.

I bought a Rockin Baby sling, and it's a heavier canvas/cotton. I really don't recommend it- go for linen, or lighter cotton, or something woven. I find the canvas is way too thick (and wouldn't have ordered if I knew)

I bought mine off Sleeping Baby Productions---she converted a wrap for me (which, you have to get a slot and then ti takes awhile, so i don't necessarily recommend that if you want one now). there are some sellers on Etsy who are certified....i'm pulling a blank on them right now....that i would be most comfortable purchasing from. Linen's a great option with summer coming! Or even joining a used group online (facebook has plenty of B/S/T groups) because a used one is so soft and easy to use and glides easily through the rings. it took a long time to break mine in, so I'm a big proponent of buying used.

Can anybody give me some advice as to what I need to look for when buying a ring sling?

I'm new to baby wearing and have been using a stretchy wrap for my newborn however I'd like to get a ring sling but I'm not sure what I should be looking for.

Can anybody give me some advice as to brands, fabrics, size etc, that would be best for a newbie? Thank you!
