We upgraded our carpet to frieze, and the fibers are too thick for roomba to move on. It is great on hardwood/tile floors, and you can put it on a schedule to vacuum every few days. On carpet, it is not as good and it gets stuck sometimes on cords or kitchen mats or whatever. We have three furbabies and the roomba picks up the day to day tumble weeds. It does miss some spots (like behind doors) so I usually do a follow up with our Dyson on the weekends.
