I found out at 20 weeks with LO and something like 21 or 22 with LO2 (late anatomy scan). I absolutely *knew* LO1 was a boy from the beginning, so it wasn't as exiting to find out. But I had no clue for LO2 and was on pins and needles to find out! We couldn't tell at the 12 week scan and my OB did a scan at 18 weeks on his crappy office machine and he couldn't tell then either, so I had to wait!

We were team green with our first, but this time I asked at the 12 week scan and she guessed girl but said it really was just a guess. Found out at 20 week anatomy scan that she was right (well, we think- not born yet!)

I will find out using the Materniti21 test at 12 weeks (well probably 13 weeks since it takes a little while to get results back). If I wasn't AMA though, I assume we'd have to wait until the anatomy scan like last time (with LO, that was at 18 weeks).

@BandDmommy: my ultrasound tech said she was not allowed to tell me period and after the anatomy scan i would have to find out from my midwife at my next appt. So before i went i asked my midwives to put a note on the requisition form that they are allowed to tell me, so the tech did tell me but she was annoyed about it.

Who far along were you when you found out the gender of your second or later? I am pregnant with #2 now and turn 12 weeks tomorrow. I have an appt on Friday and am hoping we get a look. A friend of mine found out at 12 for her second, so she is hoping we find out too. I think we found out for our first around 14 weeks.

How far along were you when you found out if your second or later little was a boy or a girl? Was it earlier or later than your first?

I had a second anatomy scan because of something that came up on the first, and I was measuring ahead and they freaked out about GD, too. They promptly sent me for a GD screening the next day which came back completely normal. If it'd help assuage your fears, ask your doc to get your screening sooner rather than later. I'm now 39 weeks pregnant and baby is a normal size-my guess is he will be healthy but not huge! Good luck:-).

I did not have diabetes, but my baby was always measuring 2-3 weeks ahead, beginning at the anatomy scan. They remarked at the anatomy scan that his head was big, but I don't recall any questions about diabetes. He was just a big kid - born at 8lbs 14oz and 22 inches.

If you have gestational diabetes, your baby has a good chance of being bigger, but not always. I did have GD and my baby measured 3-4 weeks ahead the entire time. Before I was diagnosed at 28 weeks, I was asked at every ultrasound if I had diabetes because he was measuring large. He was born at 39 weeks and was almost 9 lbs and had a huge head.

Hi Ladies

I had my anatomy scan this morning (19w2d) and while the tech was measuring the head, he asked me if I was diabetic. As far as I could tell Baby has a big head (measuring over 20 weeks!) and I'm wondering if this is what prompted the diabetes question?

Any suggestions? I don't see my midwife until the 19th but I'm curious rather than overly worried.

Thanks!
