We had a dating ultrasound (transvaginal) at 8 weeks, NT scan at 12 weeks, anatomy scan at 20 weeks, and a very quick size/position check at 36 weeks.

I had 6 total with my son.

-12 weeks
-18 weeks for anatomy scan
-20 weeks for anatomy scan
-28ish weeks elective 4D ultrasound. I actually went twice because they didn't get many pictures the first time so they asked me to come back.
-Mid-second trimester. I fell and went to L&D to make sure everything was okay. They did an ultrasound to check things out.

I had an ultrasound every week starting at 12 weeks (delivered at 37 weeks), but I was extremely high risk. I was worried about the effects on LO from so many scans, but my OB assured me she would be OK and she's perfectly healthy! I figured she'd come out glowing :)

-Anatomy scan

With my first, I went 39wks+4days for delivery and had:
-dating ultrasound
-Anatomy scan

NT scan was optional and we didn't get it the first time around, but did the second time.

Dating scan at 7 weeks
1st attempt at FTS
2nd attempt at FTS
Check at 14 weeks due to an accident
Anatomy scan
Scan at OB due to blood pressure increasing
Check due to measuring large for dates suddenly
Scan at the OB during a routine visit
5 BPP's (one per week from 33 weeks to 38 weeks)

I am sure I am missing a couple.

-20 weeks anatomy scan
-one other brief one at the OB's office for when I asked if he was head down when I was 30 weeks plus.

20ish week anatomy scan
26ish week double check your fluid level scan (they were fine)
A few times my OB rolled the portable unit in his office over during my regular appts to check for the heartbeat. Mostly he used the doppler but once in a while I'd get a picture.

I'm 16 weeks, I had my dating scan at 6.5 weeks, I'll have my anatomy scan at 19.5 weeks and a then 3D one at 32 weeks and unless something is wrong that's all I'll have. The 3D scan is part of the procedure at my doctors office and she said it was medically necessary but I don't know what they are looking for at that point.

With DS I had 4.

16 w anatomy scan/dating u/s
20 w anatomy scan
~6.5 months for a mild fall on ice
40 w to check fluids since baby was overdue

With this pregnancy I have had 1 so far and I'm just shy of 8w. I anticipate 1-2 more if everything goes as planned. I think my OB/GYN practice typically does 2, one in the first tri and the anatomy scan.

i'm in canada and so far i've had none for this pregnancy (19 weeks). We will have one next week, though, yay! That will be the only ultrasound for this pregnancy, unless there are problems/concerns.

For my 1st LO I had 2 ultrasounds (13 weeks and 20 weeks).

happy pregnancy!!! you're halfway through!!

eta: the reason i didn't have the 13 week one this time round was kinda random -- i was just too tired to go, with a baby to take care of! :) in canada you only get the 2 ultrasounds, unless you want to pay for more, or you need them for medical reasons.

I see a midwife practice that errs on the side of less intervention and tests, so if things went perfectly, I'd only have 2-- elective 12 week NT scan, and anatomy scan at 18-20 weeks. The baby wouldn't roll over at the first anatomy scan, so they had me come back a week later to try again, so i've had 3. I don't think there is really any harm in doing more, but I prefer to keep them to a minimum too.

Only 24 weeks, so something very well could come up where they need to do more, but as of now, the plan is no more.
