My skin is breakout sensitive and pulls red. I really like Purpose gentle cleansing wash - oil, soap and sulfate free. It foams nicely and removes make-up really well. I’d say it’s similar to Cetaphil.

What about Cetaphil cleanser? I used to use it years ago, then we moved to Europe and I couldn't get it anymore. Now we live in Asia and they have it here, so I just started using it again.

@avivoca: thanks! I love that they’re all budget… I usually love she’s moisture too and use it for my daughter. I recently tried one of their face washes and it made my skin really red, but maybe I’ll give your lotion a try!

Good to know about Kiehls... it has been ages since I’ve used their products and I don’t think I’ve ever tried their skin care products. Has anyone tried the midnight oil wash?

@yoursilverlining: Dr. Hauschkas is supposed to be great! It’s a bit out of my budget right now but I’ve heard a lot of good things. Thanks!!

I have tons of allergies so I only use Vanicream and Free & Clear products. They make a facial cleanser as well as lite lotion that you can use on your face.

I use the products in this Kiehl's kit, and they work really well: https://www.kiehls.com/healthy-skin-essentials-starter-kit/508.html?cgid=face-view-all&dwvar_508_size=Gift%20Set#start=88&cgid=face-view-all

I'm following this thread as I have the same issues. I've got contact dermatitis brought on by some cosmetic or hair product I'm using. I'm using Vanicream products now and they have calmed down the rash/irritated spots. I'll probably keep using the lite lotion as a moisturizer.

Go to Sephora and get suggestions based on your skin. They give free samples of almost any product and they have an excellent return policy (they will take back anything that is open if it doesn't work for you).

ETA: You may want to check out cleansers and serums by Fresh, Boscia, Origins, Kiehls, First Aid Beauty, and Caudalie (I have sensitive skin and have not had a problem with things I've tried from these lines).

I desperately need to update my skincare routine. Most nights, I just rinse my face with some water and call it done. The problem is, though, that I have REALLY sensitive skin. I'm tired of spending money on products only to realize--after just one use--that they irritate my skin!

What are your favorite products for sensitive adult skin? I'm especially looking for cleansers & maybe a serum to use in the evening, but I'd love any suggestions! (Bonus points if they're not a million dollars an ounce.)

Laundry experts, HELP! We use All Free & Clear for everything these days in an effort to actually get the clothes clean (it seemed like 7th generation didnt) AND not irritate my son's super sensitive skin (it seems like everything gives him eczema).

That said, he's potty training and we have pee laundry for the first time. It seems like it still smells like pee after washing with the All F&C.... :bummed: We do an extra rinse cycle and all of that and still..ick. Any ideas for a better detergent or something that we could add? Thanks!

DD had really sensitive skin when she was a baby. We found Vaseline to work best for us. We also dipped her bottom in baths with baking soda and gave her some diaper free time. Honest diapers made it worse, because they're not as absorbable. We like Pampers and Target brand. You just have to try a few to find one she likes.

Good luck! I know it's so hard to chang the diaper when you know it hurts her so much!

@gingerblonde: My DD had the same problem. We've used Honest, Seventh Generation, Earth's Best and Target. We stuck with target since they are the cheapest and DD's skin hasn't flared up. I would buy a small package and test it out.

Do you use any preventative cream on her? We always slather a layer of aquaphor and change often

My Nanny loves buttpaste by the way.

Our almost-three week old daughter has diaper rash something fierce. Out of nowhere three days ago, she developed a very nasty red rash on the insides of her bottom. We have kept the area dry and changed her often, and have used both Desitin and A&D Ointment. She is currently wearing NB Pampers Swaddlers, and has been since the day she was born.

Our pediatrician recommended maximum strength Boudreaux' Butt Paste and switching to a sensitive diaper, in addition to letting her air out and making sure she's dry, as well as everything we've been doing.

Does anyone have recommendations for the best sensitive-skin diapers? My poor little girl is wailing every time her diaper comes off or my hands touch that area. It even started to bleed a little yesterday from being so raw. I feel so bad for her! I want to get something ordered stat... Has anyone had positive experiences with anything in particular?

Thanks!

@hilsy85: Just checked into this, and the other dry cleaner in our neighborhood is all organic. So, I now have 2 good options to present hubby with tonight. For now, he does just hold her without his shirt on which makes her very happy.

Thanks ladies! Both good suggestions. @junebugmama: My hubby actually just prefers to have them dry cleaned for the same reasons as your hubby. Will see if this is a good option!

My hubby used to have all of his shirts dry cleaned, because he likes them pressed and starched. He started just having them laundered and pressed and requested starch only on the collar and sleeves. May help, if his shirts don't need to be dry cleaned, but he just prefers it.
