small update, I just got a positive OPK this morning on CD21! This is the earliest i've ever gotten one (usually i get the positive opk on CD23 and O on CD24)! Hopefully i'll O tonight/tomorrow and have a longer then 7 day LP! I started taking the B6 consistently this cycle instead of just after O, it seems like its helping : )

I had a short LP before TTC with my LO. I got off the pill in April, and my LP was 6 days. I started B6 immediately (I was also getting B12 injections already which is why I didn't take a complex) and my LP went to 10, then 14 days and I conceived my LO who is now 15 months old.

I can't know for sure whether my cycle was just regulating post BCP or if the B vitamins helped but this time around I'm taking B vitamins regardless.

I had an LP that short when ttc DD. I ended up getting put on clomid which helped some and then we tried progesterone suppositories. DD is 18 months and I'm happy that I encouraged my doctor to try the progesterone. We are TTC #2 and using the progesterone and if I have 6 cycles without BFP I will get put back on the clomid. I have an average of 11 day LP with the progesterone alone and that's about what I remember it being prior to my BFP with DD. It took us a few cycles of both meds to get pg. Good luck, I hope you get your BFP soon.

I took b6/b12 to increase from 8/9 days to 11/12 days. I also took Vitex, and I now have a 9.5 month old, like @lilteacherbee!

My cycle finally returned and we're TTC, but I might be fighting the same issues again. I had irregular cycles pre BC.

@annie624: thats good to know. i read a lot about only taking the B6 from Oday on since taking it before could potentially delay O even more, but it seems a few people have had better luck taking it throughout the entire cycle so i may try that this month.

Just got back from the gynecologist. She didn't seem overly concerned about my short LP because I'm ovulating and have a period every cycle. And it's still early. She said there's no reason to wait the mandated year before doing anything, though. She gave me paperwork/referral for DH to get a SA to rule that out.

She also said I can have post-ovulation bloodwork and CD 3 bloodwork to check hormones. The next thing she would probably do is send me out to get a HSG, which seems kind of an extreme place to start. THEN she said "well, we can do a pelvic ultrasound to see how your uterine lining and the egg looks." (Which sounds a lot more reasonable to me.)

Overall, she said she'd probably give it another few months and see what happens but I can go ahead and do the bloodwork and stuff. So, I guess I at least have a plan now.

This morning I got the flashing smiley on my OPK on CD 20. The gyn said maybe that is a sign I will ovulate a little earlier in my cycle (it's been like CD25-26 or so).

So, that's the update. I may try B6 again this cycle as soon as I ovulate.

Mine is usually around 9 days..... I have a two year old! We are TTC again and am thinking about this again! I took B6 last time but don't recall it making a huge difference. May start again. Took us about 8 months to get pregnant.... I did take soy isoflavones for a couple months, not sure if that did anything?

@MissLace: I think my LP got one day longer each cycle, so it was gradual, but it seemed to help. I'm curious about what my cycles will look like when they finally come back pp. We want to start TTC #2 at the end of the year, so I'm kinda wishing my cycles would hurry up and return already so I can get a feel of what my body is going to do (it took 13 months and a m/c to get pregnant with LO).

I have my annual with my gyn tomorrow morning, and I am going to talk to her about it. I haven't been trying for a year yet, so I don't know if she'll do anything, but we'll see what she says.

*Raises Hand*
I have a LP of only 10-11 days, mostly 10 days. My OBGYN did not think it a big deal. One year later, and just had my RE apt. Finally someone is concerned about it! I'm having an HSG Tues, and if it's normal I'll start clomid next cycle. I've tried b100 complex- didn't do anything, as well as acupuncture (covered by insurance but *TMI* ended up making my cycles super light and clots when they're normally just a steady flow with no clots).

Thanks for all the responses! So glad to hear you ladies have gotten a BFP with a short LP. My first cycle i was tracking (2nd cycle of bc pills) my LP was 7 days. My 2nd cycle tracking i started taking vitex from cd1-Oday and 100mg B6 plus a B-complex vitamin from Oday until i got my period. Unfortunately there was no difference this cycle and my LP was still 7 days again.

@lilteacherbee did your LP jump from 9-12 days in 1 cycle of taking the B6 or was it over time?

@Lazb how many cycles were you trying before you started Clomid?

@lilyofthewest I'm intrigued by acupuncture, i'll have to look into that.

I had some shortish LPs prior to my :bfp: My first four cycles trying were 9-10 day LPs. The last two unsuccessful cycles were 12 and 13 days.

In addition to the marginal LP, I was having a lot of menstrual (and mid cycle, and random other times) pain and was throwing a lot of interventions in to try to feel better and get KU.

I took a vitex and a B-50 supplement daily in the two longer LP cycles and in my :bfp: cycle. I was also going to acupuncture weekly during those three cycles.

I'm been pregnant three times with a 7-9 day LP. First ended in mc, then I started B6 for a couple of months and had my daughter. I'm pregnant again and did not take B6 this time. It's too early to tell but I'm hopeful that this will end positively.

I wanted to start a thread for those of us with short Luteal phases (mines consistently a measly 7 days). Have you had any success lengthening it? What have you tried? What tic cycle are you one? Have any of you gotten a BFP with that short of an LP? Advice and tips are welcome!
