Mine slept worse after his two month shots. Restless and fussy. Tylenol helped. It only lasted the day of the shots for us, fortunately.

They just had their two month shots last week. The first two nights after shots were awesome! Slept 6 hours at a time. Then it all went to hell and it's been chaos since then. I'm not sure if that could be related??

DS started mostly STTN last week (anywhere from 6.5-9.5 hour stretches) but last night he had 2 wake ups. He had his 4 month shots yesterday and seemed really restless while sleeping (lots of leg kicking, tossing and turning, etc). I'm wondering if it was related to the shots (maybe his legs hurt?) or if the week of good sleep was just a fluke? (He had been only sleeping 3 hour stretches for the month or so prior and we were out of town last week).

How did your LO sleep after shots? Better or worse?

Yup, C is always sleepy after her shots. Like, super long nap, early bedtime, and potentially STTN. I joke I want shots all the time (I say as she is in her crib fighting her nap, which I'm about to give up on.)

Sounds totally normal. My LO dozed on and off for the whole day after her 4 month vaccines and is usually extra sleepy after her boosters. I'm pretty sure my pediatrician listed off sleepiness as a common side effect.

Its always hard not to worry about them but I'm sure he's fine.

The Baby Dudes are always grump and feverish for at least 48 hours. For some reason, the 4-month shots had the most effect on them, but I have no idea why. I think it's pretty normal. I personally wouldn't worry about it for the next day or two, but you can always call your ped if you feel like it's lasting too long or LO gets a really high fever or something!

My little guy turned 4 months today and he had his vaccinations. He has been super sleepy ever since we got home. He is still eating, fairly regularly, but he has just been sacked out between feeds. Tons more than usual. I'm trying not to worry - but would love to hear from some other moms who have been there. Is this a normal reaction? Is there such a thing as too much sleep?

@Mrs. Twine: wow that looks like a really cool product. It makes total sense that pain is partly mental and that distractions would make a huge difference. I'm going to check it out! I didn't plan to bribe, but apparently that's the only strategy I had in my parenting toolkit when it came to that situation :-/

We play doctor at home pretty much every day, and now DD actually gets upset if she DOESN'T get a shot! She cried at DS's 1 year checkup because he got a shot and she didn't. True fact! We play doctor so often, she just thinks shots are part of every visit and she expects it to happen. It (usually) works in our favor, lol!

My son's only 2.5 but I tell him honestly what is going to happen when we go to the doctor. So, there's a lot of Dr. O is going to look in your ears, maybe your eyes, listen to your heart, etc etc. I bought him a doctor kit so he can see what the equipment looks like, he loves his stethoscope.

I told my son who is 4.5 years old that he was fog to get a shot but that I would be ok and them we would get a cake pop from star bucks. (I'm sorry to admit to the bribe) when the nurse came in he said. Mommy said I'm getting a shot and. Can cry a little when it hurts but if I stop and don't make a scene I can go t Starbucks and get a cake pop, even one with sprinkles. The nurse just laughed and said that's right. He got the shots, cried while he was getting them and stopped.

DS just had his 4 year appt and prior to the appt, I told him I wasn't sure if he was going to have a shot or not and that the dr would let us know once we got there. The dr sprayed on a numbing spray that he called "magic" and said it wouldn't hurt. Apparently, the spray didn't work and DS screamed bloody murder and was in PAIN. I am not looking forward to his 5 year appt, because now he is fully aware that shots hurt.
