@hilsy85: Oh I see! I re-read your first post and I think I misunderstood... I thought you meant certainly don't draw at the park and the sidewalk in front of my house :silly:

Thanks!!! The neighbors in my cul de sac has kids so I am sure they won't mind, but I will only let him draw in front of our house :) Good to know I don't have to worry about cleaning up every time after he draws something!

@irene: I think you would PROBABLY be fine to do it anywhere, but if you don't know your neighbors temperaments and don't know if they would mind, I would stick to your own driveway and the park, just to be safe and avoid any potential confrontation!

@hilsy85: @mrsbookworm: @danda: Thanks!! I am confused.... So would you say I should avoid sidewalks in a public space? Just on my own driveway?

The only time I've seen a policy on it was at my college. - we could write all over the sidewalk, no need to clean up, but writing on walls was not allowed. I think you should be fine to not clean it up, but couldn't hurt to check your HOA policies.

I can't imagine this being an issue. CERTAINLY not at the park, and not on the sidewalk in front of your house...possibly a crotchety neighbor could complain if you did it in front of their house but I really doubt it!

I don't think you have to worry about it. Unless she's drawing something obscene, lol.

LO loves drawing and I bought some sidewalk chalk for him (will give it to him as one of the xmas gifts). The reason was a few weeks ago he saw our neighbors' kids drawing outside with sidewalk chalk, and he stood there and wouldn't leave. I think he would have great fun with it if he has some.

I wanted to take some on an upcoming road trip, and we may draw at the park or something. However, I wonder if that's actually legal? Do we have to clean up the drawing afterwards? Or is it not necessary? Or should I not try I may get arrested?

Even if we are just drawing in the neighborhood, do we have to clean up afterwards? How do you clean up sidewalk chalk, do you just hose it down? And how do you clean up if you don't have a hose (eg. in a park)? I don't ever remember my neighbors cleaning up their own driveway but the drawings are somehow gone.

I thought about emailing our home owners association but that's just plain silly. So I bring my silliness here first lol. Thoughts?
