I was going to recommend spicy food as well. If you can stand it, a straight spoonful or prepared horseradish is usually my go-to.

I had a short sinus infection near the start of my second trimester, and after it seemed to have cleared up, the post-nasal drip left me with a terrible cough that was keeping me up for hours every night. Routine use of the neti pot is the only thing that finally cleared it up for good.

Spicy food and breath right strips at night! Nothing really makes a sinus headache go away for me except Tylenol sinus, so I have no help with that one. I think if you can breathe easier the headache should subside. Good luck!

I had one two weeks ago. Spicy food really helped. As spicy as they would make it with gobs of sriracha.

@Mrs. Carrot: Thank you! If you told me that standing on one foot while singing the national anthem would help. Then I'll do it! I'm willing to try any and everything right about now.

I would say go stand in a steamy shower and keep neti potting. I make a homemade solution mix of 50/50 salt and baking soda and use 1/4 teaspoon for each pot of warm water. I also like to gargle with warm salt water to try and get some stuff up there from the back end. Sleep with a humidifier on. Eat spicy hot soupy food, like pho or spicy ramen to get your nose running.

You can take Tylenol during pregnancy to help with the headache. For the sinuses, put heat on the bridge of your nose (under your eyes and over the nose itself) to help loosen up the mucus, and continue to use the Neti pot (though it works best when you actually feel the mucus, not when you're completely stuffed up) and a nasal spray like Afrin will help decongest (though don't use it for more than a few days, it causes rebound congestion after a while). It sucks but I'm super prone to sinus infections and those are my go-to remedies.

So I have a sinus infection that is causing a horrible headache. The doctor prescribed me meds just about an hour ago, but said that there isn't much else I can take to ease the symptoms. Here's what I've tried so far. The Nettie pot which doesn't seem to loosen anything up. My husband massages my forehead which helps for a moment but not for long. I'v also tried hot compressions on the forehead. Nothing works!! Please tell me you have some miracle home remedy that works for you. I'm desperate at this point to get some relief from this pounding headache.
