@LovelyPlum: So i used this post as a journal of sorts
http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/help-me-be-brave-or-just-hold-my-hand

After the initial week we did the cio things improved but i think it took a little more growing and a lot more work for us to get to the point we're at now.

By august we saw a huge improvement in the time it took me to get her to go down for the night. and over all we saw less wake ups but they were still happening pretty regularly. September they started getting fewer and further between.

October-December, we battled time change, illnesses, molars, and weaning. She was waking up 1-2 times a night, waking up for the day sometimes before 5am, and taking multiple attempts to get her to fall asleep for the night. We back pedaled quite a bit, but over christmas we were home and illness free. Having fun, full days and no alarm clocks its almost like we hit the rest button.

Now at 15 months, I would say sttn is the norm and wake ups are more rare (but still happen 1-2/week). We have our routine down and it start to finish takes about 1/2 hour (after the bath) and she's even started sleeping through my husband and getting up and getting ready for work and i've had to go in and wake her up at 6:30 to get ready for daycare. the last few weekends I've gotten to sleep in until 7.

It sucked and knock on wood things will only get easier but i think it was more one of those things that we just had to remain consistant and hope it would pass. and it did.

Bump!

@Chillybear: what did you end up doing? Our little girl has pretty low sleep needs as well, and we're at a very similar place. Just curious how it worked out for you.

Our little girl is ten months, and we are retraining after the regression and a wicked cold. We do CIO with checks- but the checks don't work for everyone, I know.
Because we check her at intervals, we just lay her back down when we go in there. Eventually she is tired enough that she stays lying down. We don't have a video monitor either.

Good luck- it's tough, for sure.

Honestly, how bad was it? we've let her go 15 minutes with no signs of stopping and now that she can stand it makes me even more nervous

We did sleep training at 7 months old. We tried everything and the only thing that worked was letting him cry it out with no checks. It was absolutely terrible but now he sleeps great. Good luck. Sleep training is a horrible process for everyone involved but it makes life so much better once you make it out the other side.

My 9 month old has never been a "good" sleeper. She has low sleep needs, is very alert, fights sleep and one thing after another has derailed our efforts to do better.

I know she's possibly in the 9 month regression so maybe not the best time to start sleep training but her sleep was never good to begin with.

At this point, she can stand in her crib and we dont have a video monitor.

Suggestions? Tips? anyone been in this spot before? Looking into getting "the sleep lady" book.
