We just picked up a halo sleepsack for big kids - it has openings for the feet. My almost 3 year old is 39" and was outgrowing most too.

The 4T/5T goes to 46" and 50 pounds (based on size chart.) Comes in cotton or fleece

My 2.5 year old is 42" and 38 lb and growing out of all of the sleepsacks I have found.

We have been using Vaenait Baby Toddler Kids Wearable Blanket in size large and they are great, but the zippers are a nightmare.

He is a LONG way from being able to use a blanket or night potty training. I find him sleeping all over the bedroom (last night he slept kneeling infront of the chair with his body on the chair).

What have you used for your older children?

Sometimes it's hard having kids who outgrow their age group before they are ready to move on. (Also looking for onesies for a 33" just turned 1 year old who wears cloth diapers...)

Personally I would give it a go in a sleep sack or just Jammie's. We ditched the swaddle at 3 months and transitioned to crib with just jammies at 3.5 months and haven't had much in the way of wake ups. I think it's worth seeing if your LO really needs anything before buying a bunch of stuff. Our LO could roll easily by 3-3.5 months so most of these things weren't useful.

We tried swaddle to zipadee and it was a disaster. Then we tried merlin and it was magic :) She was only in that about a month before she learned to roll in it so then we just moved her to a sleep sack but by then she was 6mo and her sleep was all around shitty so we sleep trained.

We used the Merlin first and it worked great, that was when she dropped her last motn feeding. Even though she was rolling when we transitioned into it, it was a few months before she could roll in the Merlin. Now we use the zipadee and we're happy with it.

@MrsSRS: My baby is 3 months this week and I hadn't thought about the fact it would be time to move on from the miracle blanket soon! I just saw on their website they recommend stopping at around 14 weeks (she is 13 weeks). She hasn't started to roll over yet which is why I wasn't concerned. Is that why you are stopping or is there another reason? I guess I need to come up with a transition plan myself!

I'd move to the crib in the miracle blanket and then change to the Merlin suit. We used it from 3.5m when my son rolled over while swaddled until he was 6-7 months and started rolling over in the Merlin suit. From there we used sleep sacks.

We used the Merlin at 3 months and it was an amazing miracle worker with DS but he started rolling in it within a month or two so we had to stop using it. Next time around, I think I'd try the Zipadee since it can be used longer. And if that doesn't work try the Merlin. I don't regret the Merlin because it was a lifesaver but wish we could have used it longer!

DD is 3 months and we are going to need to move out of the RNP and miracle blanket soon. Thoughts? She STTN so I'd like to help her keep doing it. With DD IT didn't really matter when we stopped swaddling because his sleep was always crap. Move to crib then stop swaddling, right? Swap swaddle for a Merlin or a Zipadee or just a sleepsack and cross my fingers?

So, Little P still sleeps in a sleep sack at 27.5 months. :-) The main reason is to prevent him from climbing out of the crib! :-)

Thankfully he's small enough that I think he will fit in the XL sleep sack (the large is getting too small for him). We went from swadles to donated sleep sacks without tags (therefore I don't know the material), so I'm wondering how thick the 100% cotton Halo Sleep Sacks are. We want him to wear them in the summer nights and we keep our thermostat at 77 degrees at night, so I don't want him to overheat!

Who has the 100% cotton sleep sack and is it lightweight enough for summer? OR would we need the Muslin sleep sack? Just don't want to buy something online that doesn't work and have to return it.
