We only stopped using sleep sacks at 16m because it was too hot in our house. She's been walking since 10m and had no issues walking all around her crib.

We never used one with #1, it took me 11 months to figure out that he would sleep really well in fleece pj's.

With #2 we are working on weaning off the sleep sack with swaddle hopefully by 4 months since he is starting to roll. I don't plan on replacing the sleep sack if he sleeps well in fleece footed pj's- so far, so good!

LO is almost 16 months and has been in sleep sacks since 12 weeks. Always with pajamas. She can walk and crawl in the sleep sack. Tried a nap once without the sleep sack and I think it didn't go well from what I remember. I'm too scared to mess with the routine and sleep cue - I don't want her to outgrow them!

@2PeasinaPod: same here! We are in a l/xl sleep sack (xl for the halo) and it's working out fine... She sometimes has trouble walking in them now that she is bigger but on the bright side, maybe that's why she also hasn't gotten out of her crib?

We still use them at 20 months, I love them! It's nice and cozy since LO doesn't use a blanket. I also hope it will stop him from trying to climb out of the crib. He had no problem crawling in it, and now he walks in it just fine.

@HILSY85 and @Mrs.Taco - thanks for the information on sleep sacks with legs. Genius!

Sounds like I've got plenty of time before thinking about ditching the sleep sacks. For some reason I'm the only mom I'm friends with that uses them, so I was curious about other people's experiences. Thanks everyone!

My just turned two year old is still in sleep sacks...

She can walk just fine In them, but I think they're what's keeping her from trying to climb out of the crib since she can't lift up her leg. I was thinking it might be time to ditch them, but she recently started asking for them at naptime when she is really tired or has had a particularly rough day, so I think they're like a security blanket. She's wearing either 6-18 month Grobags or Medium Aden + Anais.
