Just the sent from iphone bothers me, why do I need to know that? Be careful and consistent in your response and I don't care whether it came from your phone or computer. If you don't have time to respond...don't.

YES. A friend of mine has this in her e-mail signature, and it isn't even a cell phone thing. It just says "Responding to your message quickly is important, so please excuse any typos." That tag line is going out with her RESUME. FOR JOBS.

No. Just, no.

@MrBee - I agree that tone is much harder to convey, I strugge with this. I also agree that when I send emails from my phone they have more typos (stupid autocorrect!)... I don't usually mind either when they come through from others though, because I know we're all busy.

I guess what's annoying is that the people point it out in their signature? There are about 5 different people that work for different vendors that have it as part of their signature. That's the part that seems unprofessional/irksome to me...

@CarrieLouWho: I don't use a sigline, but I have noticed that when I send emails from my mobile devices... they tend to have more typos, grammatical errors and other issues.

I also have a harder time with tone when I'm posting from a phone or tablet, as I generally write for brevity on those devices (as opposed to writing to maximize diplomacy). It's something I really have to watch out for when posting to Hellobee!

Overall, I'm definitely sympathetic to the occasional typo or error from a mobile phone emailer!

It drives me absolutely insane when other professionals that I work with add the tag line:
"Sent from my iPhone, so please forgive my spelling!"

Seriously? It's called editing. Read your email before you hit send. If you don't have time to do that, then don't respond to the email.

Does this annoy anyone else? I feel like there are several vendors that I work with that add this to their signature line. Most of them are annoying anyways, so I guess that's why it annoys me more.
Please tell me I'm not the only one...
