When I first started eating better after DD, I ate awful during my pregnancy and gave into every possible craving. Luckily I only had about 8lbs or so to lose, I used it to see what my intake levels were at calorie wise with certain foods. I never used it for the output as I wear a heart rate monitor to the gym, I also never used it to check my macros.

I do think it good for people who want to be 100% aware of everything they are putting into their bodies! But, if DH isn't interested health/ weightless isn't something you can 'convince' someone to do. Great work for yourself though!

I used it for weight loss and accountability pre-pregnancy, but during pregnancy I've used it to track my nutrients, especially protein. I love it! It totally keeps me accountable with what I eat, but the sugar thing totally bugs me too!

@Anagram: @red_seattle: @shopaholic: @runnerd: Thank you all for the insight. So far it is going well for DH and I. I am already down 4.8 pounds. I am so proud of myself. Hopefully DH will get results that continue to encourage him.

I purely use it for calories in/out tracking purposes and it's great for that. I can't speak to if you get down to nutrient level and limiting certain stuff.

I used it prior to being pregnant and even a little on/off during pregnancy. Should probably get back to using it soon! I didn't use it so much for losing weight and exercise, but I loved the app for just keeping track of what I ate. I found it had a better database of items than a lot of other apps. It's amazing how calories easily add up!

No advice on how to get DH on board though. I can never convince DH certain things are bad for him or not as good for him as he thinks! i.e He thinks a big restaurant sized Cobb salad is good and healthy - when a small hamburger probably has less calories!

I used it while I was pregnant to track my protein intake-- I'm not much of a meat eater, and it was a big challenge for me to make sure I ate enough protein and iron rich things. I really loved it for that purpose.

But since X was born, I've hardly used it. I'm lucky if I have time to eat at all-- and if I do, X demands to eat half-- let alone enter into the app what it is I'm eating. (So far, even after X weaned a few months ago, I've still found motherhood to be the best diet ever.) But they've made some awesome improvements to the app in the last year. It's even better than when I was using it more regularly.

I've been using it recently, not to lose weight, but just to monitor what I eat....I'm 26 weeks pregnant.

My biggest gripes are how it counts sugars. There's no distinguishing between types of sugars, so a banana is just as "harmful" as ice cream on MFF. Every day I eat the correct amount of fruit, it says I'm way over on my sugars. I realize its for non-pregnant people, but that part sucks. If I eat a small bowl of fiber 1 cereal, with a banana and 1 cup 1% milk, immsupposedly not supposed to eat any more sugars that day.

Same with carrots, carrots have a lot of natural sugars...but they are also really good for you. Eat a few servings as snacks and you're over the amount of sugars for the day.

Does anyone else have the myfitnesspal app? Have you had much sucess with it? Is your SO on board too?

I downloaded it recently and find so far that I like it. DH is not such a fan but he doesn't like to eat healthy and excerise. I think he would like to remain blissfully unaware of what he is doing to his body. Any suggestions on how to keep him on board?

(Also I would love Love to hear your sucess with this app)
