My DH has sleep apnea and sometimes if he's too tired and falls asleep without it on, I hit him until he wakes up and say PUT ON YOUR MASK. His snoring is even MORE annoying now because I'm not used to it anymore. It's like trying to sleep through a person's onesided conversation, it goes on forever even with me kicking, hitting, trying to wake him up. I have to physically make him get up to get a drink/go to the bathroom to "break" it. Sometimes when I've been woken up 15 times by him snoring I feel like smothering him with a pillow!! Usually nudging, elbowing or gently kicking him gets him to move enough that the snores stop. If not, my remedy is to move to the guestroom or make him move to the guestroom. I kicked my husband (lovingly) out of the bed last month to sleep on the couch. At 9 months pregnant I just couldn't handle it any more!!</p> <p>But usually I just yank his pillow or nudge him to get him to stop. Over the past 3 years I think I've gone out to sleep on the couch bc of his snoring maybe a handful of times. We tried breathe right strips and those helped a little bit. He also snores sporadically for no reason. It wouldn't be so bad except his snores are LOUD! I can't help but be annoyed at being woken up in the middle of the night. I usually nudge him, then push, and if that doesn't work, i will wake him up and tell him to shift positions.</p> <p>If your husband/significant other snores, what do you do? Has anything helped? </p>
