When he's on his back. I lightly stroke his arm and he wakes up enough to turn over but not enough that he realises that I've done anything. Mwa ah ah ah!

@blackbird: SAME! My DH has sleep apnea and sometimes if he's too tired and falls asleep without it on, I hit him until he wakes up and say PUT ON YOUR MASK. His snoring is even MORE annoying now because I'm not used to it anymore. I love that damn CPAP machine.

Yes! There are so many nights that he goes to the couch bc.I keep kicking him. He just started wearing those breath right strips and I think they may have saved our marriage!!!! I did not want to be one of those couples who sleep in separate rooms but I was a zombie. If it wasn't ds, it was dh waking me up!

My husband will occasionally snore if he drinks or is sick, but we deal with him having entire LOUD converstaions in his sleep. It's like trying to sleep through a person's onesided conversation, it goes on forever even with me kicking, hitting, trying to wake him up. I have to physically make him get up to get a drink/go to the bathroom to "break" it. This happens when he is stressed.

I HATE IT!

Well usually it's not too bad but it has kept me up on more than one occasion contemplating possibly smothering him. Lol. It was the worst when I was pregnant & I had sound aversions (like food/smell aversions but in some ways worse). I almost couldn't even sleep in the same room at that time!

Ugh I feel your pain!

Omg yes! Drives me so nuts. I just keep shoving him awake and make him turn on his side. I think it's only a problem because I go to sleep later than him and have insomnia. Once I fall asleep it doesn't wake me.

Usually only when he's sick and/or sleeping on his back. When it happens I just nudge or poke at him and tell him he's snoring and he flips onto his side. He never remembers in the AM. Once or twice he's even made small talk with me or made exaggerated snoring noises that he has no recollection of the next day.

Ugh, yes. Sometimes when I've been woken up 15 times by him snoring I feel like smothering him with a pillow!! Usually nudging, elbowing or gently kicking him gets him to move enough that the snores stop. If not, my remedy is to move to the guestroom or make him move to the guestroom. So far we haven't found any remedy that works :(

Eta: certain medications can make snoring worse, so if your husband is on any meds, you might want to have him ask his doctor whether snoring is a side effect or not.

I feel your pain. I kicked my husband (lovingly) out of the bed last month to sleep on the couch. At 9 months pregnant I just couldn't handle it any more!!

But usually I just yank his pillow or nudge him to get him to stop. Over the past 3 years I think I've gone out to sleep on the couch bc of his snoring maybe a handful of times. We tried breathe right strips and those helped a little bit. A humidifier worked even better.

My husband snores mainly when he drinks and/or when he is sick. He also snores sporadically for no reason. It wouldn't be so bad except his snores are LOUD! I can't help but be annoyed at being woken up in the middle of the night. I usually nudge him, then push, and if that doesn't work, i will wake him up and tell him to shift positions.

If your husband/significant other snores, what do you do? Has anything helped?
