We had some success with Payless Shoe Source. My son at 14 months old is a size 4 and we love the teeny feet brand. The fisherman sandals are the absolute best!

Just wanted to update that at 10.5 months my daughter has started walking! We took her to the mall and got her fitted for size 4 shoes. We got her a pair of Stride Rites (but in a size 5) while we were there. I also ordered a pair of See Kai Run (size 5) and they fit her so much better because they are wider. We also have a pair of 12-18 month robeez and they are plenty big but a bit tight around her ankle.

I tried a lot of stuff, I found a great pair of the socks with grip on the entire sole, they're by Sterntaler, which is a European brand. I've also used the Jazzy Toes socks that look like baby shoes, I got a starter package on diapers.com in the larger size.

Then I went to Robeez, the slip on shoes, and those honestly, sucked. I would have skipped them entirely if I knew better. The sizing was just off and DS slipped around a lot while wearing those standing up.

Next I did the Robeez mini shoes as they have better grip and come in actual shoe sizes. I bought a pair in size 4 and in 5.

I just recently brought him to a specialty shoe store to get him measured. Good thing I did because he needs a 5.5 wide, so he's in a pair of shoes from Stride Rite now. My only real requirement is velcro closures and the ability to open the shoe up wide to get his foot in.

We started putting shoes on my LO at about 10 months when she was cruising but only outdoors. Inside, she wore sock shoes with grip. Jazzytoes have the best grip Imo but they're pricey.

Her first pair of shoes were see kai run (size 3) and we loved them. Recently I bought some water shoes for a beach vacation and I love the soft flexible rubber soles so much, I treat them like her regular shoes. Especially great cause they don't fall off and they were only $10 on amazon.

I didn't put my daughter in any shoes until she was full on walking. They say shoes are really not necessary and bare feet are the best pre-walking. Once she started walking, I have been mainly getting her shoes from Stride Rite outlets.

We just started at 1 week before 11 months because my son started cruising.
We have Stride Rite's SRT Soft Motion shoes in a 4.5 M. We measured him at a 4 but I was a little cautious and went up 1/2 a size.

- charlie wore shoe socks until he was 1, when he started wearing regular sneakers
- we got shoe socks from target. most people seem to go with robeez. pedipeds are really nice but they're pricey. stride rite is great because they have wider sizes and charlie has wide feet.
- charlie was size 4 for awhile, then he shot through 5, 6, 7 in one month each!

I was curious if anyone can recommend shoes for their little ones before they were really walking. It seems in our day care a lot of babies start wearing soft sole shoes around 9-10 months. I have heard about brands such as robeez, pediped, stride rite, etc.

What age was your LO when you started with shoes?
What Brand/style?
What size did you start with?
