I use all kinds of spices! Cinnamon, thyme, rosemary, garlic...lots of garlic. Italian seasoning

As a newbie, I suggest getting some no salt spice blends to ease yourself in

I don't add salt, but feed DD whatever we are eating. She is hilarious and MUCH prefers her food to be spiced - Indian and Thai seem to be her favorites. Last night, I gave her some plain butternut squash, black beans, and broccoli. She totally turned up her nose until I added some curry powder. Then it was all gone in about 2 minutes...

My go-tos are curry, cumin, cinnamon, allspice, 5 spice powder, herbs du provence, and smoked paprika.

The following have been hits with DS. Apples with cinnamon, zucchini with garlic, carrots with either thyme, cinnamon or nutmeg and the same for yams, chicken fingers coated in cornflake crumbs, oregano & basil, garlic mashed potatoes. That is what I can think of off the top if my head. I just try not to use salt.

I added cinnamon to apples or pears or even yams! He loved all of them. I want to try others but am not sure how to mix them haha

We started at 6 months--pretty much anything goes except too much salt or anything super spicy! Cinnamon is a good one that LO likes, as is basil, cilantro, garlic, onion, etc.

Cumin roasted carrots might be good?

LO has been eating like a champ for about a month now. She's a little bit of a piggy pants, bless her, and is now on 2 meals a day and leaning towards 3. I've been doing a mix of BLW and purees, both store bought and homemade.

This weekend I made up a big batch of carrots and sweet potatoes chunky purees, enough for probably a few weeks. Thing is, despite mixing other foods in, she's starting to get a bit bored of mommy's cooking. I'd really like to put some spices or flavors into the carrots and/or sweet potatoes, but to be honest, I really do stink at cooking and have no idea what kind of herbs or spices would be delicious (and it doesn't help that I refuse to eat carrots! :p)

When did you introduce spices or herbs? What kind of combinations were a hit (not just with carrots and potatoes!)?
