For DD2, I had the shower/sprinkle at 34 weeks; I gave birth at 37 weeks. But the timing was more for my sister who hosted. She's away at school so it was the only weekend she could do. But I honestly didn't care much either way since I was having same gender, same month baby so I didn't need much.

With DD1 I had her shower 7 weeks before she was born.

In our circle we usually do them about 2 months ahead of the due date so around 32 weeks.

My sprinkle was at 32 weeks mostly because that was the best weekend to have it due to other commitments. I felt plenty pregnant and it gave us enough time to put the few small items we got away before the baby came.

I didn’t have anything for LO2, but my shower for LO1 was at 31 weeks and I thought it was a great time! It was before I got huge and uncomfortable so I felt more “glowingly pregnant” than like a walrus. It also gave me plenty of time to wash, set up, shop, etc.

If you had a sprinkle for a second (or third or fourth...) baby, when did you have it? With my first, my baby shower was at about 34/35 weeks and then I had her at 37 weeks. I would have loved a bit more time in between to get stuff washed and shop for what we still needed. When did you have your sprinkle?

I think most of what we are needing to buy has already been covered above, but here's our list:

Second monitor
Swing (got rid of our last one)
Carrier
Humidifier
Sound machine
Bottle nipples
Pacis
Bibdanas
Sleep sacks (ours were hand me downs are are pretty worn out)
Booties (last baby was summer baby, this one is winter)
Shampoo, diaper cream, sunscreen
Nursing supplies for me (lanolin, breast pads, etc)
Ride-along attachment for the stroller so Older Brother can stand while baby is pushed
Banana toothbrush teether (DS#1 LOVED his to smithereens)
We'll also need additional convertible car seats once baby is out of the infant seat, but probably will wait to buy these

Also interested in the Halo bassinet, but not sure whether I want to throw down $200 for it...

I agree with new bottles and bottle parts, washcloths and towels, bibs, diapers in all sizes!, anything that you can't reuse due to different seasons if your kiddos are born in different seasons, any gear you wanted for the 1st but didn't get or didn't like and would like to replace.

I'd try to think of things that get gross/wear out/DS still uses and won't want to pass down......

New hooded towels and wash cloths?
Perhaps a variety of new pacis/bottle nipples to figure out what LO2 likes? teethers?, Bibs?
Replacement bath toys/thermometer to replace gross moldy ones?
Sheets/mattress protectors for bassinet
Any winter gear you need (hat, bunting, etc.) if sizes/seasons from your DS don't match up.

A friend offered to host a sprinkle for baby #2, (due in 8 weeks, shower in 4 weeks) and I'm trying to figure out the registry situation. It will definitely be a smaller more intimate group, but I'm struggling to find gift ideas in multiple price ranges...and trying to remember what I might need! (We are team green so I am thinking baby clothing will be minimal.)

Here's what I have so far - any suggestions or ideas?

Bassinet (halo bassinet swivel sleeper) since big brother is still in the crib, and we'll have baby in our room for 3-4 months.
High chair - we didn't register for this with our first and I hate the high chair we ended up with.
2nd set of Aiden and Anaïs swaddle blankets.
Baby wash/diaper ointment/baby powder
Size 1 and 2 diapers
2nd car seat base - also something we didn't get with our first and would appreciate!
Kickee pants sleepers

Almost everything is <$5 or >$80! Help me remember what I'm missing with baby #2. (We already have the rock n play, swing and activity jumper)

For my bff's sprinkle, it was at her mom's house, as opposed to her shower, which was at a catering facility if I remember correctly. It seemed like a smaller crowd, and more homemade food. Gifts were more like clothes and stuff.

I went to one for my SIL for her second and it was fun. There was a decent crowd but that side of the family is huge. They did a few games and requested diapers for gifts since she was going to have two in diapers. Most people brought diapers and something else, usually clothes. I think it was really nice for her.
