A quick update: The storm has passed, yay! It took about 2 weeks. He still will not roll over onto his back (I feel this is a milestone is just going to skip) but he gave up screaming about sleeping on his stomach. He now sleeps well and when he wakes up, he will play quietly on his tummy until I go in to get him. Thanks for the encouragement ladies!

I think this lasted about a week in our house. Good luck!

@troberts1021: Yes. Do you have a video monitor? I just watched her on there to make sure she was ok. If she was smushed into the corner or something I'd go flip her. I WOH so I just couldn't be up all night flipping her (but obviously you have to do what you're comfortable with!). I think by the third day she easily fell asleep once she flipped and now she flips over as soon as I put her in the crib.

@lawbee11, did you let her just cry it out when she woke up? I have a tough time doing that, but the alternative of flipping him all night isn't really working either.

Thanks ladies for all the responses; sometimes it's just nice to know you aren't going through it alone!

It took awhile for DS to learn to roll back over, but within a couple of weeks he decided that he preferred sleeping on his stomach. Which still kind of freaked me out, but not needing to rescue him was a definite plus!

Yep. Was bad for about a week or maybe a little more. She now sleeps on her tummy. The first night I flipped her every time but after that I flipped her once then let her figure it out. I couldn't go in there a dozen times a night to flip her!

@autumn865: same. It was rough for about a week, every nap and bedtime. But she finally just stopped fighting it and became a tummy sleeper and slept much better. She didn't actually really start rolling to her back for a few more weeks I think.

Awe we went through this too. During the day we just did tons of tummy time to speed up the learning process to learn how to get herself back over. I would say it only lasted a little bit and if it makes you feel better after she learned to comfortably sleep on her tummy DD finally started napping and sleeping longer at night! I guess she was always just a more natural tummy sleeper.

It was rough for about a week for us. Once she figured out how to roll both ways easily she went right back to normal. She is a belly sleeper now!

It ended quickly. I want to say a couple of weeks? It's tough. She prefers to sleep on her side now.

My LO, 5 months old, has decided the past week he wants to roll over and fall sleep on his stomach. The problem is that he cannot roll back over yet, so when he wakes up during the night, he realizes he's on his stomach and starts screaming to be rescued. I stumble in, flip him, and then when I check the monitor a few minutes later, he's asleep on his stomach again.

He went to bed 2 hours ago and I have already flipped him twice and he immediately rolls back over onto his stomach. I'm worn out and just hoping this ends soon. Anyone else go through this and have any advice? Please tell me your LO learned to roll back quickly? Or do I just need to buy stock in Starbucks :silly:
