@looch & @crumbs - You both make a great point! My friend's 2 1/2 year old twins never want to stay in their stroller, but of course she still needs it to corral them in or when they get tired. :)

I have no idea and I'm curious about this myself, although we already bought a convertible pram/stroller. But according to DH's co-workers, you'll want a lightweight stroller once you have a toddler, regardless of how much you spent on your infant-style one.

My son is about 25 pounds and he's 21 months old. He wants to walk in the majority of situations we are out and about now, so think about that too...even though the weight on the stroller accommodates higher, your kid might not want to be hanging out in there for that long.

@foodnerd81 - Thanks for the info! I keep hearing about the Uppa Baby Vista - may have to look at that too!
@chitownro - LOL! Girl, I feel you! I had baby fever bad too! The Donkey is pretty cool looking I have to admit! You might have the right idea with just starting with that!
@Yin - Thanks for the info! 15 months and ready to switch? How much does your LO weigh now?

Although my LO can still use his stroller, we opted to switch to an umbrella stroller (uppababy g-luxe) around 15 months. It is lightweight and takes up much less space.

I'm pre-TTC but have had serious baby fever for some time now. I'm thinking that I will just buy a double stroller to begin - b/c we plan on having at least 2-3 kids. Now I just need to convince my DH that it is ok to spend so much $$ on a great stroller like the Bugaboo Donkey :)

My sister has the Bugaboo Cameleon and is thinking about getting a new, smaller stroller soon for her 19 mo old son. For regular walks while they are still in the city, its great, but she wants something light that she can carry up and down stairs on the subway while she is also carrying him. But they are also moving to the suburbs soon, so she will be in and out of the car a lot too, so now she is thinking of the Citi Mini and they already have a super cheap umbrella stroller.
Uppa Baby Vista has the option of adding that little seat below. Its similar to the Bugaboo, but just a little bigger and can fit the extra seat.

@mamabehr - Oh! I HAVE seen those like stacking strollers recently! LOL! I actually always think it looks so funny and sad for the kid sitting "underneath". But no doubt, they look very practical! Hmm...will have to discuss with the hubs!

@babyboymom - Thanks! I guess that's kind of the answer I was looking for. So most people switch to an umbrella stroller around 2 y/o because they start to get heavy. That's what I had no idea about.

I agree that sometime after age 2 people switch to an umbrella stroller. We have a city mini and LO at 15 months it's starting to get heavy, and he already likes to get out on long walks to walk part of the the time. If we weren't having another baby I would probably switch to an umbrella sooner than later.

There are two options that I found, the Britax B-Ready http://www.britaxusa.com/strollers/b-ready-configurations (which is what I have and LOVE LOVE LOVE it) and Phil and Ted's http://philandteds.com/nz/Products/Push/navigator . Those are the two that I have found.

I just got my double jogging BOB stroller and it is AH-MA-ZING!

@shopaholic: I think kids probably need to be lifted into it, although maybe they can do it themselves by stepping onto the foot part? As long as someone is holding it, of course...but it looks high enough to me that they would need help.

@mamabehr - Ooh! You do make a great point! Yes, we do plan on having a #2 hopefully around 2 yrs later? But then again, ask us after we have baby #1 right? :) Are there strollers that you can use for one & then 2 kids? I know that some of the strollers you can attach a standing board? P.S. I will be getting a BOB too for jogging and our mountain place.

@hilsy - Three sounds pretty reasonable. Is the Bugaboo hard for them to get in and out of at that age? I'll have to start keeping an eye out for toddler moms now (in addition to babies and preggers! lol!)

You can definitely use the bugaboo cam from birth until the kid's at least 3. Around here, for older kids (like 3-4), I usually see them in umbrella strollers like the Maclaren or Uppababy G luxe. I guess once kids get that heavy, it's easier to use a lighter stroller--also, one that they can easily get into and out of on their own.

I would have to say that it depends on what you are doing and the kid. If we are going to do a long day at the zoo or an amusement park, I'm pretty sure I'm going to want the option to throw a 4 year old in the stroller. I do a baby boot camp thing almost every day, and my two year old spends most of the time out of the stroller (she likes to "work out" with me), but when we are moving (jogging around the park etc) she needs to be in. If I continue doing this when she is four, she'll have to be able to go in a stroller for some of the class.

However, do you plan to have a second? And if so, when? My second came when my first had just turned two, so we had to buy new strollers (I say strollers because we got a jogging one and a regular one, the regular one fits in stores better). So maybe look into strollers that can go from one kiddo to two? (I wish I had, but the thought of a second baby seemed soooo far away!!) This was suppose to answer the question about which stroller, because you could use a stroller that becomes a double for a very long time.

Does that help? Did I answer your questions? I'm so tired hahaha

I am doing research on some strollers, but I think I am pretty set on getting the Bugaboo Cameleon. It seems to be the stroller of choice around here, I'd say about 80% of the strollers I see while out eating/shopping are Bugaboos. Besides that I see a lot of City Minis and Orbits?

I was wondering HOW LONG do they ride in this kind of stroller though? The website says "to toddler" and has a weight limit of 40lbs I think (from what I could find on a review). How old are kids usually when they are 40lbs? And I was wondering if WHICH first stroller I buy makes a difference in how long we'll use it? I mean, is it even feasible to think you would use one stroller from birth to say, 4 years old?

Thanks!
