@MrsDragon: Thank you. And I just know we'll both have a happy, healthy baby in November :) Be sure to ask how things are going with that bleed your doctor saw. I'm glad you haven't had any issues, but just in case you ever had spotting at any other point, it would be good to know if that blood is still there.

@Grace: Thank you :) I hope all is well with your pregnancy!

@sweetooth: So happy to hear everything is ok!!! We had a SCH and were put on pelvic rest for a couple weeks, it got bigger and then I was put on strickt bed rest for 5 to 6 weeks. At 20 weeks it was completely clear and all is good now. Stay positive and follow your docs orders all will be well. I am sorry that you had such a scare after the fertility issues you and DH encountered.

Wishing you the best =)

I also had an SCH and was bleeding at 6 weeks - went in for an ultrasound and everything looked fine. They mainly were checking that the pregnancy wasn't ectopic and I wasn't miscarrying. I'm not sure if they didn't see it, but they didn't tell me about the SCH at that appointment. It wasn't until I was closer to 12 weeks and saw my midwife for the first time that she mentioned it in passing and I was like, "what?". Then she showed me on the ultrasound photo where it still was and warned me that I may have more bleeding/spotting but if I didn't have cramps then it was OK but that I should call if I ever was worried about anything. I'm really glad she warned me though as I did have more bleeding when it finally resolved itself fully and would have been really worried had I not expected it.

I had a SCH as well, I was just told to take it easy and it resolved itself. I think mine showed up around 7 weeks and lasted until 12 weeks or so. It was super duper scary but it ended well! Now I have a happy, healthy, and chunky baby boy!

Oh man I'm happy everything turned out okay! My doctor offhandedly mentioned 'a bleed' he saw at my 8 week ultrasound and that was that -- no further scan, no rest, nothing. I'm still picking up baby on the doppler and everything seems to be okay, so hopefully we can have happy endings together!

Add me to the list of people who had a subchorionic hematoma and ended up with a perfectly healthy baby. :) My understanding is that most people who experience this go on to have healthy pregnancies and babies. Here's hoping we can you to that list, too!

@sweetooth: Thinking back on it, yes, but at the time I didn't know it happened. My poor husband did, though. He told me later that for a split second he was sure I was going to die and was trying desperately to not let it show on his face. His parents were taking pictures of DS in the little plastic bin thing but he refused to leave my side. I had an excellent OB who got me fixed up right away so what could have been a lot scarier wasn't.

Anyway, SCH don't seem to be terribly uncommon but they are scary. I suggest you stop reading about them on the internet...I remember when I did it seemed like there were no positive stories, but they are there (and likely more common).

@sweetooth: Sort of? It was there at all of my ultrasounds but stayed the same size, so my midwife wasn't terribly concerned, especially after my anatomy scan (because it was so small in comparison).

It resolved itself when I delivered by way of a fairly significant post-partum hemorrhage (I lost half a gallon of blood immediately after he came out--literally within seconds). I just barely didn't need a transfusion, but was under strict observation and wasn't allowed to get out of bed for like 6 hours after.
