I feel that whatever you choose will be right for you. We are all cheering for you. There are so many helpful ladies here who can give their advice. I'm very pleased with the amount of support this community provides. Also ask on other boards; there are many to choose from. I am struggling with a similar situation and I know that what my partner and I end up choosing will be for the best. Thank you for reaching out! You are an inspiration. xx

@Shantuck: I'm 32. So far all the reports suggest poor eggs and somewhat irregular ovulation. According to my RE, I'll have a Clomid for now. In case it proves to be insufficient I can go for IUI next.

@muffinsmuffins: Yes! As far as I've been reading the posts from the forums, I found IVF is the last resort.
its a sure shot way (in most of the cases) to getting pregnant when nothing else worked.

You didn't mention your age but unless you were on the much older end, I probably wouldn't let myself be rushed into Ivf. At 35, I saw an RE after 6 months of trying and was told I had a diminished ovarian reserve and that I needed ivf right away because I had less than 1% chance of conceiving naturally. I decided not to do anything until I could switch insurance and went to see another RE who gave me the option of an iui with clomid. I felt like I needed to try a less invasive approach first but ended up pregnant naturally the cycle before I planned to start treatment. Another RE I saw related to a postpartum issue I had told me that of course it would take a year to get pregnant at 35/36 and that should have been expected. If you aren't comfortable making that leap, take your time.

There are several options outside of IVF, depending on your fertility issues. My RE always offered us choices and never pushed for the most invasive or expensive choice.

Our doctor let us set the pace. We did clomid without Iui, clomid with iui and trigger injection. And clomid without iui with trigger (got preggo that time). We were going to go to IVF next but she would've tried injectibles first and we were ready to move on since I was already 38.

Our RE was willing to be as aggressive or non-aggressive as we chose. Once we got all our testing done and found no real cause for our infertility we opted for medicated IUI cycles first and then would move on to IVF when we were ready. Our first pregnancy was the result of a break in treatments (after two years of trying) and this pregnenacy is the result of a medicated IUI cycle. My experience talking with friends and such is that most RE's don't want to push you into IVF until other options are exhausted OR your diagnosis means pregnancy is unlikely without IVF.

We also had no issues other than no male partner/no sperm (same sex couple). We did 6 unmedicafed IUI's with donor sperm, 1 medicated and ultimately had our son via IVF. There are lots of options besides IVF. We pushed to go that far as we were getting impatient.

I saw an RE (reproductive endocrinologist aka a fertility doctor). After testing (HSG, uterine biopsy, sperm analysis along with day 3/21 hormones), I was started on clomid and then femera (both drugs that help simulate ovulation) and ultimately an IUI (interuterine insemination). IVF is typically the last intervention tried. My doctor would have let me try several rounds of IUI before suggesting anything further. All of this obviously depends on what the results of your testing are as some problems can really only be potentially solved with IVF

I've been trying to conceive for about past 8 months. Though no major infertility issue has been detected in me or my partner, somehow our efforts have proved to be futile so far. Even the use of OKT didn't help. At infertility support, I have heard about the obvious IVF already but reluctant to opt for it just yet. Did anyone ever face a similar issue? What were the alternatives to IVF that your fertility clinic offered?

Society6 .... but I am not entirely sure if you can upload something just for yourself to buy. It sounds like they would do it - check them out - I made two of my phone cases including the one I am using right now. Very good quality.

ETA: Not the rugged rubber thing you liked though but I don't think you can print a photo with those...

Mother's day is coming up and hubs is looking to me to give him a suggestion or two.

I think I want a new iphone case with photos of LO on it. I have an iphone 5c. Can anyone recommend a company that makes a good custom case. I like the ones with the rubber bumper but can't seem to find a company that prints those. I can't get a good read on what the other cases are like as far as bulkiness and durability. Anyone know of a company I can check out?

My other suggestion for him is an Alex and Ani bracelet.

What are you asking for for mothers day?

@autumnlove: You bet! Not like we go on daylight regularly (or ever) so we have bought what, 2 books? LOL

@looch: I see, I am not that crazy then :) How nice to have family around!
No baby sitting swap... I just don't dare to ask for such a favor, and besides I am a bit afraid I'd not be able to control another child. Maybe when they are older....

@MUI831: There was no "date night" before kids. That was called "going out". haha. Without the limitation of time and place and duration. So we do anything whenever we want. We would go watch a movie that we really want to watch at the time we want to watch them, go shopping...etc. It was not that exciting, but there was no need to go on "date nights" then because of the reason of "we have to go out or we will go crazy".

@travelgirl1: Good for you girl :)

Sadly, we don't have mini golf or bowling near us. If we did, we would absolutely do that!

We don't go to movies when we pay a babysitter because it seems like a waste of money, but we have done that when family watches DD.

For have a date night twice a month and we always do the exact same thing - go out to a nice restaurant and have a drink somewhere fun after. We LOVE food and live in a neighborhood with tons of great bars and restaurants, so this is a no-brainer for us. We try to split our date nights between going out just the two of us and going out with friends.

Thanks for all of these!!!

@locavore_mama: Good idea...! And hugs about the no date nights... :( I am actually still in the same boat as I can't figure where to go and haven't called the babysitter(s) yet.

@Amurray: You guys are so romantic -- paint pottery and line dancing!!! Did you guys come out from "The Notebook"?? lol jk but we are not there anymore. *sigh*

@Smurfette: Thanks!! Great ideas! I was thinking about Dave and Busters the other day but I agree with @snowjewelz: that I don't want to spend that $ especially when I am already paying someone sitting at home! And aquarium... maybe but kinda want to go to somewhere that we don't already go to with LO every other week. haha

@snowjewelz: @LuLu Mom: I don't know where can I find a mini golf place here.... but that sounds like a good idea! I should research about it. The unfortunate thing is there is this wonderful golf driving range that serves great food is actually 2 minutes away from husband's work place. I go there to meet him for lunch sometimes (without playing golf). So miserable if we have to go there for date night too haha

And I wish we were by a beach. Then there would have been no problems.

@autumnlove: We are exactly like you girlfriend, except we walked the bookstore after dinner, and we walk the children section of the bookstore. Oh we are such sad little beings.

@looch: That's a good plan for you guys! I am still not comfortable with strangers driving my LO anywhere yet or I'll spend the entire day texting her or worrying if she remembers to take my son out of the car...etc. Yes I am a freak.

@LuLu Mom: @mrsjyw: I wish we have a casino nearby. We would have been wandering in a casino rather than the children books section in the bookstore.

We both don't care for watching movies at the theater so it would be ridiculous for us to do that for a date night! In the summer we like to do mini golf at night since it's cooler and keeps us active and not too expensive. I don't know you're near a beach at all, but we'd go when everyone's leaving and just take a walk/watch the sunset. I like D&B but I don't like spending the money haha! I'd look up local fairs to go to also.
