I love to make cakes of all kinds (usually with frosting). But my favorite cookie recipe is for Momofuku Milk Bar Compost Cookies - salty and sweet! http://www.browneyedbaker.com/2013/10/22/momofuku-milk-bar-compost-cookies-recipe/

Also these brownies are delicious and easy:
http://smittenkitchen.com/blog/2012/08/my-favorite-brownies/

Sadly, I seem to have lost my sweet tooth during my pregnancy so far. Something I never thought possible!

Toll House cookies. The original recipe is so comforting. I'll also cook oatmeal choc chip. This is my fave recipe:
2 sticks butter
3/4C sugar
3/4C brown sugar
2 eggs
1 t vanilla
Scant 3/4 cup flour
1 t baking soda
1 t salt
3 heaping cups quick oats
2 C choc chips

Mix wet ingredients. Add dry ingredients. Bake at 375 for 10+/- minutes. Best when still slightly gooey out of the oven (for me, at least). :)

I kind of despise cooking right now since I'm pregnant and really picky. BUT, I can agree on eating just about anything sweet. So, give me some good ideas of treats I can bake!

I love cookies, brownies, and cakes. I'm not big into frosting, lots of gooey caramel, or nuts.

Sometimes parents at my daycare will bring in treats for birthdays. I plan on asking them not to give her anything I don't bring with me until she's a year old. After that, I'll be more lenient about it.
ETA: I think if you just ask them, they will go along with it. They should understand and go with your wishes.

I kept everything "bad" away from my LO until age 12 mos. now we have the occasional treat at parties just to be social and to keep her from being the weird kid and keep me from being the uptight Mom. :)

I've seen so many 6, 7, 8 month olds at parties eating cheezies! Scary!

@T-Mom: Yes, that is one of my concerns. I don't want her to feel left out. I don't mind the occasional treat but she hasn't had juice yet and the only sweets were homemade "healthy" cookies and her birthday cake. It just seems around the holidays there are lots of parties.

Daycare is good at asking parents to bring some healthy options like bananas so I know there will be some good things for her to participate in!

I don't think what you are suggesting sounds unreasonable. Our day care never allowed treats even for birthdays or holidays at that age. Hopefully your LO will not be upset if she sees other kids getting those things though?

Do you plan on limiting the sweets that daycare/school/family members give your LO during holiday parties? I think I might draft a note to the teachers asking them to please only let her have fruit at the party. I just don't know at the age of 1 she should be having juice and cupcakes.

Any suggestions on how to handle?
