@daniellemybelle: Seems like you all had a wonderful time!!!

I've never been to Great Wolf, but I have mentioned it several times to my husband that it would be a great winter destination for us (also living in the NE of US).

A lot of the Vermont ski resorts have indoor water parks. My friends really enjoyed Jay peak. Not in vt but great escape lodge in Lake George ny has a indoor water which is a smaller version of great wolf. We did it for our twins 2nd bday. One night was enough. We went to great wolf in the Poconos for their 4th bday and I was a bit too much in terms of managing them since we also had our daughter by then and she was only 1 1/2.

I haven't been here but I always get ads on Facebook for smuggler's notch and it looks like there's lots of pools and fun stuff. Would be more of a trip but maybe worth looking into

Our gym has an outdoor pool with a splash pad & wading area for little ones, plus a big water slide. We went today and it was really nice! We'll definitely be back. It's a 24 Hour Fitness.

I don't know about the Boston area but we recently went to Atlantis and it was fantastic!

@Snowybreeze: no the parking lot is right next to it- you don't even need a stroller or anything. You can see it in this pic. It's technically soldiers field road there, you yeah same side. Traffic around here sucks. And I've only been weekday mornings- I'm sure the lot fills up more on nice weekends.

@Foodnerd81: The parking lot must be on the opposite side of storrow drive right? I don't ever remember seeing it! looking at google map now.
I may have exaggerated a little about the 1 hr drive. I'm thinking of the dreaded traffic. I think we can make it there in 40 minutes haha. Plus I love the restaurants in Brighton, if the kids are good we might be able to dine as well =P.

@Snowybreeze: there is a huge parking lot right there, and it's all free. The pool area is completely gated and there is attendant who makes sure kids (and adults, I assume) are accompanied. The splash pad are is not really gated. It's very nice but I'm not sure it's worth an hour drive. It's half an hour drive for me and we've only gone a few times because even that's a hike with a toddler.

Also FYI I see Great Wolf Lodge on groupon a lot. I'm sure the dates are their less popular ones of course but worth checking if you decide to go. I agree t seems better for when the kids are a bit older.

@Foodnerd81: I had lived in Brighton for over 20 years and was only around the Artesani pool area during the new years and 4th of July outings. It looks pretty nice for the kids from the google images. How do you go about parking and such? Do they have a website? Is it free to the public? I live further north now, so it'll be about an hour drive to head over there.

@looch: Thanks for the suggestion. Just looked at its website. It looks amazing! Have you been? I'm thinking since it's not cheap at all, that we can wait till the kiddos get a bit older so they can enjoy more of the attractions. Fyi- when I googled the resort, the 2nd link that came up was this: http://www.fox5ny.com/news/166816828-story
I guess it's from their NY location but not really sure if it's all true.

What about the Red Jacket Inn in North Conway? They have a water park with a wave pool. The Hampton Inn, also in North Conway, is a big hit with my nephews (ages 2 - 6). It's not as big as Red Jacket Inn water park, but they have 2 big tunnel slides and a shallow pool for little kids. Red Jacket is near Storyland too.

The Cape Codder Resort in Hyannis also has a wave pool!

Id like to know the answer too. Not relaxing but Artesani pool and spray deck over in Brighton (or something like that) is very nice for toddlers. Just as an afternoon trip or something.

I'm sure there are Cape hotels with nice pools. I'll watch this to see what else people come up with!

We went to see the local YMCA pool. I don't think I'm a fan of indoor pools, and this one makes me feel claustrophobic and I couldn't wait to walk out. I keep envisioning pools in the resorts. I remembered hubby and I were in the pool everyday during our time at Disney World in 2008 :) and it felt relaxing and fun. Daughter is 3.5 and son is 1. I'm still indecisive whether we will make our Disney World trip this year, and if so I think maybe around late September.
We're from Boston, and I've also looked into going to Storyland in NH, and then perhaps stay a night in an Inn with a pool.
I've also looked into Coco Keys (water park for kids) but seems like it might be a little advance for the kiddos to enjoy. Does anyone know of any places that have good swimming pools in the Boston area? or maybe a mini trip 2-3 days in a nice resort?
