@anbanan15: it is Calendula Soothing and Gentle. It was the one and only bottle of conditioner they had at my target. They didn't even have a detangling spray.

@shopaholic: glad you like it! Which one did you get? Wrists to use the calming but it has rice and DS is allergic to it and the super sensitive doesn't (last I checked. We order a large thing of it)....loved the scents on them all! I'm the same way with certain smells :)

@anbanan15: @BananaPancakes: we used the California baby conditioner tonight and omg the scent is fantastic! And I don't like or tolerate a lot of scents (allergies and headaches) but this is so good! And her hair is extra silky and smooth! The back of her head hair is no longer a frizzy texture. Hoping no more knots tomorrow morning!

Note: I did use coconut oil to work out the knots this morning very slowly.

We've used Dove shampoo and conditioner daily on C since he was itty bitty. I've never had to work at tangles much (granted he does keep a short hair cut once it started growing) so I'd recommend a conditioner.

@shopaholic: California Baby makes a detangling spray too that you could check out. We never used it, but I love their other products a lot. I would use the super sensitive line since she is so young but would be more comfortable using it over other brands.

@shopaholic: We use the California Baby super sensitive conditioner and love it! Worked great for DS's tangles on his tight little curls. We also used a detangler (I forget the brand. It was on vaca in a pinch) that worked well, but I love the conditioner. If things are really tangled we would comb the conditioner in his hair during bathtime before rinsing.

@shopaholic: The JJ detangler...I returned it. I just use some coconut conditioner on LO...I think I bought it at Sprouts.

@oliviaoblivia: I love our new AA bamboo sheet. So silky!

@SAHM0811: I've heard great things about that! I think even the little one is still too big and tough for her tiny, soft head still. But I'd definitely get that when she's older!

@oliviaoblivia: Hmm... I will have to see if the problem is lessened now that I've removed the terry-cloth thing. If not, I'll probably order the bamboo sheet! Yeah, from the front, K looks to have nice, shiny, smooth hair. From the back, it's all short and curls up and dull. And now with knots! Going to try coconut oil tonight during bath time!

@autumnlove: J&J conditioner or your own?

L has tons of very fine hair. She has super short ones in the back where they've rubbed off after getting tangled the same way as K's. I was looking up silk crib sheets but instead have been using the A&A bamboo ones. I've put coconut oil in her hair, baby oil, and my own Aveda leave in conditioner. Her skin isn't too sensitive so that hasn't been an issue.

my girls have thick hair and i swear by the knot genie. it makes brushing tangles out a breeze. it doesn't pull on their hair. i used to use a natural, eco-friendly detangler i got on diapers.com, but they stopped selling it... but i actually don't use it anymore because since the knot genie, i don't need to!

but with your baby so young, maybe just some coconut oil (a tiny amount goes a looong way on baby hair) and a wide tooth comb might help. my youngest got serious knots in her hair at 18ish months and actually i just wet it, put a tiny bit of coconut oil and worked most of it out with my fingers. it took a long time, but it worked.

i do think the knot genie comes in a small size though.

i know, it's a $14 brush, and i was hesitant to get it, but it has made brushing hair (which i do a lot) way easy.

K woke up this morning with a head full of teeny tiny knots on the back! I think it may be from the "crib sheet saver" which is made of terry cloth to catch drool. She is also turns her head side-to-side A LOT in her sleep. I'm taking off the crib sheet saver tonight. And short of getting a silk crib sheet made, not sure about the other options for preventing and getting rid of tangles and knots?

I've read to use conditioner, baby detangler, and/or baby oil? Has anyone used these on a baby so young (11+ weeks)? Any recommendations? I'll admit I won't use the J&J detangler.
