Thanks ladies! I'm glad to see a strong consensus - especially since Legoland is a bit out of the way :-P

We went when they were 2, 4, 6 and 8. They liked their souvenirs from Legoland the best too haha. But we did go about 15 years ago and the parks have significantly expanded since then. We weren't really into shows and parades, and if I remember correctly, the lines at Legoland were much shorter and there were more cool playground type structures to climb and play on.

If they love Legos like my brothers all did, I'd definitely recommend Legoland over Disneyland.

@codeitall: how old? Not to take over the thread, but I have the same question about my 5-year-old twins...they are nuts about LEGOs but could care less about Disney!

I'm just going to go against the grain here, my brothers loved Legoland way more than Disneyland. We weren't super into characters, so that aspect of Disneyland didn't appeal.

I haven't been to Legoland but I would recommend Disneyland! There are a ton of rides your 4 year old (and even 15 month old) can do. My daughter was 15 months old when we went for a day last year and she LOVED it.

Never been to Legoland but we took my girls to Disneyland and California Adventure Park last year when they were 4 and 2. They both loved it!

@JennyPenny: Agree on Disneyland for both kids! We’re local so have taken our now 3.5-year-old a few times, and the easiest trip for him was at 18 months. The dark rides didn’t scare him yet (but terrified him at 2.5 and he was not thrilled at 3.5 either). He was dancing to Pirates of the Caribbean and laughing at the ghosts in haunted mansion at that age! There is, of course, a ton for your four-year-old, too.

Disneyland def! More rides for your 4 year old and even for the 15 month old. If he’s into Cars(the movie), there’s a newer Carsland inside Disney. Legoland is fun too but there’s a little bit more restriction on rides and the lines took forever. (Well...we went to the one in Florida so might be different)

We're going to California in July for a wedding and have 3 days in the LA area. I was thinking it would be fun to do a day at Legoland or Disneyland but I feel really overwhelmed reading about the choices and trip strategies. DS1 will be almost 4 so its mostly for him - DS2 will be 15 months. Does anyone have any recommendations for which park (or something else entirely)?
