It's been taking a lot longer to get a reading, and believe me, in the morning when you have to pee, every second counts! It also would shut off in the middle of taking my temp, and sometimes the beep would have a weird sound. Battery is the only thing I can think of other than a completely defective thermometer.</p> <p>@doxielove: I'm going to try a new battery first. Much more cost-effective than buying a new thermometer! Ever since I bought it it's said low battery. It does tend to have favorite temps, too. I think it's defective. But, it gets the job done (I see a thermal shift). I'd recommend getting a replacement battery just in case - see if that helps.
