We don't have a thermostat but I am very comfortable at around 18 c which I think is about 64f. Over 70f I would be far too hot!

70 when we're home and just sitting around. I try to turn it down or off when we're actively cleaning or something. We always switch it off when we leave and when we sleep, unless the outside temps are below zero, in which case sometimes I set it to maybe 60 at night.

That said, I'd have it way higher if we didn't have to pay for kerosene! If/when we get a wood stove, our house will definitely be warmer than 70. We are both cold all the time in the winter, even with slippers, sweaters and often blankets over us.

We are lucky, though, that we have a very small, well insulated house. We have a monitor heater and the coldest I've ever seen the house, even after a full day or night with the heat completely off, was 58.

This thread has me shock faced! I could never! We live in a very cold climate and like it warm indoors. I will say we are fortunate to have solar heating, so the cost is very low. Also, it is in-floor heating.

@regberadaisy: one benefit of apartment living ;) at our last place we only paid about $50-$60 on the coldest months. In our new apartment, heat is an included utility!

We keep ours around 70! We'd keep it cooler if we had a larger house to heat!

We keep it at 68 during the day and 66 at night. We have a gas fireplace that we use when we're home during the day to heat our main living area. Our LO's room gets warmer than ours so that's why we keep it colder upstairs at night - he runs warm, we have a space heater in our room, and our dog sleeps in our bed to keep us warm!

68. We used to keep it around 64 before kids. I would wear long underwear typically. Keeping it that high feels extravagant now, haha! We try to be environmentally conscious so I just don't feel comfortable keeping it higher. During the day I'm usually out and about with kids or on my feet, so I don't get cold. And I use a wool blanket on the couch in the evenings. Closing the blinds in drafty rooms helps. So does wearing a tank top under clothes. And hot tea!
