I went to my perinatologist and they couldn't find a source and this doctor wasn't concerned once we ruled out placenta previa. I'm still pretty bummed out about the whole thing though and emotionally exhausted. I'm just glad he said the baby was fine/fluid levels are normal/ and otherwise everything else is good

I had what I thought was random bleeding at 32 weeks. I went to the ER per my Drs orders and I was actually in labor and didn't know it. No pain or anything. It was blood and my mucus plug, bloody show.
Good luck this afternoon, hope it's nothing!

Others would need to weigh in on this, because I lost my mucus plug during labor ... but, isn't it possible to start losing your mucus plug as early as 33 weeks? Would it be bloody or clot-like?

@Pinkberrry: I had so much random bleeding with my most recent pregnancy. I had bleeding randomly through week 16. Then again randomly a few times around 30ish weeks. I always went and got checked at the doc to make sure everything was ok - ultrasound for baby and checking to see if they could find the source of the bleeding. Always it turned out to be ok and couldn't find what was causing the bleeding. One time around 30 weeks it happened over the weekend so I ended up going to the ER and they did an ultrasound and again everything was fine. I just had unexplained bleeding - good signs were no sharp pain etc. The bleeding would range from heavy spotting to a one time gush of blood that would get lighter over the next day or two. My baby was born totally healthy and is 9 weeks now.

For peace of mind you would probably want to get checked if the bleeding persists or if you start having pain. But most likely it's fine and some women just have unexplained bleeding throughout their pregnancy

I passed what looked like an old clot at 3am and now it seems that inhaling very slight residual blood that's very very light. I spoke with my dr this morning and he said to just keep an eye on it. I have an appointment with my perinatalogists already on the books for this afternoon so we'll see what he says. I also spoke with my doula this morning and she said it was probably nothing as well.

I had placental abruption with my third pregnancy, accompanied by heavy bleeding which was dismissed as "normal" by the L&D nurses and doctor. Everything turned out fine, think goodness, but I will be more forceful and getting checked out in the future.
That said, it sounds like you have a very small amount of bleeding which can be pretty normal.
It never hurts to get checked out just in case

I did bleed at 34 weeks. I had some complications (wasn't my first time to bleed that pregnancy and was extremely heavy), but they did tell me that it was common to spot when you first start to dilate. I'd still get checked out today, though.

The really scary stuff - I.e. Placental abruption - is usually associated with heavier bleeding than you are describing and pretty bad discomfort.

This evening I was doing my nightly floor stretches and when I sat up I noticed a small amount of vaginal bleeding. I have no pain and the baby is still active 2 hours from when I noticed the initial bleeding. I called my dr on the after hours line and he said to keep an eye on it however if it becomes more active or increases in quantity to go to the emergency room. The total amount of blood wouldn't have filled even the smallest pad but I'm obviously still worried. There is no pain, and I've been checking and there seems to only be a tiny bit of occasional blood (checking every 15 mins). Anyone experience this? I'm about 33 weeks at this point with no history of complications.

I've been 9 months pregnant in an extremely cold winter and an extremely hot summer for both kids. summer did have the perk of a more comfortable and easy wardrobe, BUT physically it was more exhausting, because the heat alone can cause you to dehydrate fast. Once I was getting my last pedicure before giving birth and I was doing absolutely nothing (reading a magazine in a massage chair)... And I almost fainted from the heat. Mind you, I kept up with my water and snacks, the AC was on, and it still was an issue... So yeah, i think being super preggo at the peak of a hot summer definitely has more (serious) downsides. I was drinking water like crazy to combat dehydration, and at the same time going to the bathroom like every hour since baby was so big and really pressing on my bladder... Not easy!

@Foodnerd81: Probably the BEST season to be in 3rd tri would be the Spring!

I'm just having a hard time with boots & jeans these days, and keeping all the layers down. Though, Mother Nature must've heard me complain, because we've had 2 nice 70's-ish days now! Evenings are still freezing though and I don't want to go anywhere!

I'm actually glad to have done the first trimester in the winter-- I can only imagine it would be that much worse in the heat and humidity. Of course, that means I'll deal with being 9 months pregnant in July in the northeast so I guess I will see how I feel about it then. I do think summer clothes will be easier when I'm huge though-- maxi dresses always make me look pregnant anyway!
