Congrats! FYI at a certain point the "hook effect" occurs, which means the hcg is so strong that you have to dilute your pee to get an accurate read. This happened to me, I was testing after 6 weeks and my control line started getting lighter, but when I diluted with water, it was back to being dark. At that point my husband was ready to have me committed!! And I stepped away from the tests!!

My update: doc said it looks like a normal pregnancy, saw our bean and the heartbeat (too early to hear, it was just a flicker on the screen). So I have my first official OB appt in 2 weeks but all looks good!

Thank you all so much for talking me "off the ledge!" I'm much better now and am out of tests anyway, haha. All I want to see is a sticky bean with a heartbeat so fx for that.

@kiddosc: good catch, I didn't notice that!!

Either way they all just look positive to me. I would just stop testing! Even betas at some point (about 5w) stop being reliable indicators of "how" pregnant you are..

@hoogirl05: on all the tests I've taken, the test line is closest to the end you pee on... which would mean your test lines are consistently dark and soaking up all the ink so the control lines are lighter. The key seems to indicate the control line is on the right too. That means your lines are awesome and dark!

@hoogirl05: Don't apologize! We have all been there and we have needed others to talk us "off the ledge." Unfortunately, hpts are meant to be qualitative vs quantitative. They can tell you whether you are pregnant, not how pregnant you are. Would you feel better if you got betas? Let us know how the appointment goes. :happy:

Yep, exactly what @mrsrain: said. Each test can vary and are only meant to tell you THAT you are pregnant, not how pregnant you are. Darker lines don't necessarily mean more HCG or anything. Stop testing! And congrats!

Test lines can vary by lot, so no sense in using that as a litmus test for "how pregnant" you are. Congratulations on your pregnancy! Hope your appointment is reassuring 😊

Comparing test lines isn't an accurate way to predict hcg levels. Those are all incredibly strong positives. Good luck!

I am feeling better after posting strangely. I think the logical part of my brain has taken back over. Sorry for letting the crazy out! For now, I am pregnant (and feeling quite nauseous). Fortunately work should be busy so I will be distracted!

So my story is here, basically I had bleeding I mistook for a period then got a BFP after OPKs were so dark and I took a HPT
http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/period-then-bfp

I have my follow up with my OB on Friday afternoon, but freaked myself out this morning with comparison of HPTs. Trying to talk myself down but still freaking out that the lines are getting lighter. I will be 6w tomorrow (if I do have a bean in there - all I want to see on Friday is a HB)

Oh and the sticks are 9/10, 9/12 (slightly dehydrated), 9/14, and 9/16 FMU though I did drink a ton before bed last night
