@PawPrints: that's why I'm struggling! The sessions we're down to really cut my struggles dramatically!

I love this idea, I wish I had a brilliant idea for you but nothing is jumping out at me!

Following, I'm considering weaning my 21-month-old when she turns 2 and I am not certain how I'll go about it. I know I am really going to miss that morning session - can't even imagine having to spring up out of bed right away!

@AnnabelleG: Following! I feel this way about my 28-month old DD. She usually just nurses in the morning, but will sometimes ask for it at other times. It's really hard for me to drop the morning nursies because she's an early riser and I just can't function that early so I always end up giving in. A celebration sounds like a great way to end your time nursing.

My friend made up a song about the milkies going away! Her DD was 26 months I think!

Ok, so I think I'm finally ready to wean my 30-month old. He weaned himself at 20 months but then unweaned two months later when his brother was born. Now he's more attached to nursing than ever. We're down to once a day in the AM but I'm really ambivalent... some days it's fine and some days I feel so harassed. He gets so cranky and irritable when refused and it's creating stress in our relationship. Which is a long-winded way to say, I think I'm ready to wean and stop waiting for it to happen naturally again.

So I'm planning an end of nursing celebration (my sister's idea) to help with the transition. First of all, any ideas of what to call our made up holiday?

Any other pointers on how to handle weaning an older toddler? Thank you!!
