We told people to walk before they came to build up their stamina but no one did and they were all exhausted. I think he’s having way too much fun with his grandparents to miss us. We also left him for 4 days when he was 11.5 months and that went great too. He’s continuing going to daycare so his routine isn’t too disrupted.</p> <p>If it’s your first trip to London, I would do the major touristy stuff...Tower of London, Windsor Castle, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s. I also really enjoyed Churchill’s War Rooms. If you aren't as into that, I would've wanted to take a quick trip out to the Stonehenge. Loved doing hi-tea (I was at the Orangey). We lived in London for 6 months and I loved going to Kensington Palace and the Tower of London, we always took people to both when they visited. You can get a pass that includes those and Hampton Court, which was great, too. What do you like to do? There is lots of free things you can do like walking Hyde Park, I think a lot of the museums are free (the British museum is spectacular). When we leave the country, we have also printed one of those 'permission to treat' forms off the internet that we left at home with the insurance cards. The cathedral to see the Magna Carta and of course Stonehenge topped our list, and if we had more time I would've gone to Bath as well. If you end up in Salisbury, stay at the Rose and Crown. It's the cutest B&amp;B right on the river Avon. </p> <p>I want to get back to Europe so bad. We love to travel for sites/experiences/food, so hotel does not get much attention from me. We usually aim for 2/3 star - clean, private bath, and central location at roughly 100/night is our guideline. I'm sure Marriott would be lovely! After seeing Paris and London, we took a flight to Dublin and it felt too small. My husband stayed in Islington (sp?) once and liked it. Stunning scenery, awesome hot springs, I also loved the horseback riding (not even a horse kind of person, but Icelandic horses are so sweet and the landscapes are amazing). Plus it's a short direct flight from the east coast. Everyone else seems to love it!<br /> We LOVE London. It's one of our favorite cities, and we've been itching to go back. You could easily do London and Paris in 7-8 days flying into one and out of the other and taking the train in between.<br /> I thought Barcelona was very nice and easy to get around. The Gaudi architecture is very interesting and I just loved sitting outdoors at the cafes and just people watching. If you start out in Madrid, you could also check out Toledo, Avila, or Salamanca, all very cute old towns.<br /> Switzerland is super beautiful too, especially the Bernese Oberland area. We stayed in Wegnen, and it was just the cutest little town.<br /> If you're looking for more "must see sites", I think London/Paris or Italy...
