Update: His nose seems to have stopped since his nap. I am hoping it doesn't happen again tomorrow! Toddler boys can be so stressful sometimes!

Liam gets bloody noses once in a while, usually at night while he's sleeping. I try to keep the humidifier going to keep the air moist. That said, that seems like a long time for a bloody nose, so if it's still bleeding when he wakes up from his nap, I would call the pediatrician.

My LO recently has been getting a lot of bloody noses too… but I believe it was due to the dry and hot weather (i'm in So Cal). It'll either be dry or runny/stuffy. At my LO's physical/check up last week, his pediatrician suggested before he sleeps, clear out his nose with either a warm bath or saline solution, wipe the excess boogies, then lightly apply some vasaline into his nostrils with a q-tip. I just swirl the q-tip in some vasaline and then swirl it 1-2x each nostril real fast…don't go too deep though! This helps lubricates inside his nose and also puts a protective layer just in case he picks at it. I haven't been doing it every night but he hasn't had another bloody nose since! Hope your LO gets better soon :)

@hilsy85: I am hoping so....This is his second bloody nose. The first one came thanks to a straw and jammed up his nose....He hates getting his nose looked at. It took 4+ people to look at last time. I swear he turns into the incredible hulk....

@hilsy85: I have him down for a nap right this minute. I am hoping that perhaps if he isn't messing with it that it will have a chance to clot....but I should probably call his doctor....

N has been teething for what feels like forever! (probably about 2 weeks really trying to cut teeth). So with teething comes runny/stuffy nose. We have been combatting his runny nose by suctioning it out once a day with saline. I haven't done it today because when I was changing him and preparing to suction out his nose, it was pouring blood. Cue my freak out. :bummed:
The blood seemed to taper off so I let him continue to play. However since then it hasn't really seemed to stop fully. It started around 11am and it is now after 3pm. He isn't generally prone to blood noses when he teethes. The only thing that we have changed recently is keeping all the windows open because we want to air the house out before it gets too cold to do so, otherwise our A/C or Heater is on.

Any suggestions? or Am I just nuts.
