From past experiences, not currently doing this.. Just OPKs, vitamins, & sex usually about 2 weeks every day to every other day. Which is a feat after you already have at least one kid and at least one person on night work schedule!

I don't do the legs in the air thing because I am UTI paranoid after some crappy experiences!

For me it was getting off depo for over 1 year before TTC then getting off the pill 8 months prior and charting starting then. Condoms as a back up.

Then we just DTD for every other day for 2 months. Stayed on my back after for a few minutes. I tried testing for ovulation but stopped after I was not getting positives around the expected time.

We would have done temping or regular testing kits if it had taken much longer.

I forgot to add that I was charting and eating a pretty good diet full of veggies. I also made my husband take a multi vit plus B complex.

@dc yoga bee: I definitely count the HSG as the reason we got pregnant! Besides BDing of course. :) The Vit C was more for trying to lengthen my bleeding days ( I figured more bleeding, heavier flow equals better lining). Previously it was just a few smudges on a pad. My luteal phase was always about 15 days. Anyway, I think it is an all-around important vitamin!

@Bibliolove: I got pregnant 72 hours after my HSG with my first! The right tube wasn't blocked, but the RE had to push the dye through as it didn't just flow back out. I also noticed the month I ate an orange every day I had a 14 day luetal phase for the first time ever. I wasn't even trying, I just bought a big bag of oranges. Maybe that vitamin C really does something!?!

@Portboston: I'm hoping the increased exercise helps balance out my hormones. I need to find a good naturopath.

I feel like we had to pull out all of the stops. We did:

Levothyroxine
Mucinex
A high quality food-based multivitamin with extra Vitamin C. I was convinced my thin lining needed a boost and eventually my period length was longer.
Pre-seed
Sex in the AM, while on vacation, and every day and including O day.
OPKs
Finally an HSG a few days before expected O I think helped. My RE had to push through the right tube a bit, and I heard the ultrasound tech note that I had ovulated on the right side when she was checking out our baby at 9 weeks. Maybe some gunk got cleared out?

I guess that was it, but it felt like a lot at the time.

About 6 months before we started TTC I started seeing a naturopath for my irregular cycles. I got on thyroid meds (slightly hypo), started vitex, magnesium, multi vit, vit B complex, & iron supplements. I added ground flax to my diet for increased EWCM. I also started to exercise a little more frequently. Once we started ttc we BD EOD and I laid in bed for 20 min after sex. No legs up, just laid flat. We didn't have trouble concieving so I have no idea if all of that stuff really helped.

I haven't seen one of these threads in a while. What does pulling out all the stops mean to you while TTC? Legs up in the air? Various supplements? Sex during a full moon? Missionary only? Share them here!

We are taking a break from the RE after an unsuccessful clomid cycle. We're going to try on our own until the fall. For this cycle, I am trying to incorporate more of these:

-more frequent BD. Should be obvious, but it's hard with a toddler!
-Vitamin D. The RE prescribed these last time.
-Pregnitude/Premomma- myo-inositol for egg quality and ovulation. I'm borderline PCOS according to RE, and have weak ovulation
-Green Tea
-Spearmint Tea
-RE recommended acupuncture
-Whole milk
-Cinnamon for insulin resistance
-Vitamin X! Exercise. I completed the 20 in 31 March Madness Challenge at my local pure barre, and have almost reached 100 classes since September. I'm down 21lbs.
-metformin. Makes me too darn sick even at 500mg!

The tww is so hard. I only had a few signs I was pregnant, but the month I got pregnant my ovulation was so late I had no idea what dpo I was while going through the tww. I had brown spotting on 5dpo and 10dpo and my boobs hurt less than they usually do before I get my period. No other noticeable symptoms. I got my bfp at 11dpo. After confirming the dates at my first ultrasound I was able to back track and figure out when I spotted, etc.

I think if your having symtpoms that are very different from previous months there's definitely a chance you could be pregnant. Maybe wait 2 more days and take another test?

My pregnancy ended at 19 weeks in November and I'm now trying again. I'm right in the middle of my cycle so about to go into the tww in a few days and am so not looking forward to it.

Good luck!

With this pregnancy, I suspected that I was pregnant because I felt nausea that was very similar to previous pregnancies two days before my period was expected. I didn't test until the day of my missed period and it was definitely positive. That being said, I have also mistaken pms symptoms for pregnancy symptoms many times. They can be so similar it is hard to tell. Good luck!

I have had a super random, physically rotten, & confusing day ha! I'm 11 DPO & I feel like from about 9 DPO until 13/14 DPO when I finally start my period are always the absolute worst for me. I can handle the TWW until the very end, then I'm just like tell me already!!!! Ha.

Anyway, would love to get your feedback/insights cause I am lost!

This is my first full cycle doing acupuncture/herbs/cupping for fertility and I felt a *huge* change happen just in the two weeks I did it last cycle, no cramping with my period, etc. I really do feel SUPER positive that I'm going in the right direction- even if this doesn't lead to pregnancy itself!! :goodluck:

So today- because of that STUPID positive mindset ha- I let myself POAS, which I really try not to do and was so bummed to see it was stark negative :bfn: :bummed: Then I had one big drop of watery red blood when I wiped so I thought I was starting my period early & put on a pantyliner- but it was just that one time this morning?? I know it's still early at 11 DPO but my boobs have been full and killing me for the past few days, I've been exhausted yet somehow can't sleep at all, just totally off. I also started with little nausea on Saturday and it has gotten progressively worse every day. I am the type of person to get nauseous really easily so I'm hyper-aware of it and this is NOT my norm. I am typing this from the back porch because I was feeding the pets dinner and their food smells SO DISGUSTING to me I have my face in a cup of hot tea with lemon because I was dry heaving all over the kitchen. I try not to symptom spot but I really just feel funky and I feed the pets with no issue every day. However, if that was actually caused by pregnancy I would already have enough HCG to measure a BFP right?? Do you think this could be from the herbs I'm taking increasing my progesterone?

Has anyone else had symptoms BEFORE getting a BFP?? My period is due on Friday and it has (thankfully) become quite regular so I guess I'll know one way or the other soon enough! Not trying to give myself false hope after a year of negatives but just wanted to check & see! Would love to hear if you've had symptoms before a BFP... or if progesterone has made you feel like crap too :meh:

Hi ladies, I'm joining here late. I had my last period (actually a chemical) on Dec 31 and have been averaging 35 day cycles so I wasn't sure if I'd be here or Feb. But I'm pretty sure I can test on Jan 31 so here I am. :)

Cycle Day: 27
TTC Cycle #: 3 (but we started TTC in August, with a mc and cp since then)
Ovulation & POAS date: 1/21, 1/31
Baby #: 2 (DD is 2 years 3 months, would be exactly 3 year gap if we conceive this month...same O date and everything)
Your plan this month: Try not to stress too much
For Fun: Did you make any resolutions other than to get a BFP? We decided to stop focusing solely on TTC and to have other things to look forward to...so we booked a Disney vacation for the spring!

AF showed her ugly face today. I O'd earlier than I thought... My OPK didn't even detect it, but my temps did rise, which I thought was peculiar. I guess I know why now. Made my first apt with an RE. In the meantime, I guess I'll try Femara, but bump it to 5mg. Sooo

soooo..... aunt flo seems to be here a few days early, which means if I ovulated at all it didn't match up with when my hubby was home. So cycle 4 was a write off :(
On to cycle 5.... not even sure if his work schedule this month will have him home at all during my fertile period, depends on how ong this cycle will be. I was always (I think) consisitently 26-27 days. Since coming off BC to conceive the've been 23, 25, 28 and 25 days long. So on average shorter than before.
It doesn't look promising for the next few months
