DH would laugh and probably shake his head since this is a common occurrence. I might have the occasional accident a bit too often. He would then come over and make sure I am ok while telling me to be careful.

.....and how he actually reacts..

Although,in all fairness.. if I am actually hurt/sick he is the BEST nurse ever. He just waits to see if its an actual injury... or me just being dramatic (I get pretty loud when I stub my toe..)

DH has a complete fit if I hurt myself in any way, but he's also a drama queen when he gets hurt. If I fall or something he will run over screaming "OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ARE YOU OKAY!??!" If he himself falls he will holler and scream all the way to the ground. In truth, its pretty hilarious.

Just read this. haha. To make you feel better, my husband is HORRIBLE on "comforting". If I were in your situation, he'd say this: how could you have possibly done that. Why can't you be more careful? Why is there even a toy there in the first place? If you have picked it up this wouldn't have happened.

Took me many years to suck it up. Now I don't even say anything if I hurt myself and he's around. I know. I don't know what the heck is wrong with him too.

So..... feel better! :)

@mrbee: haha seriously! He's lucky it was on my forehead and I don't want a band-aid there, otherwise I would have made him get me one! ;)

@nana87: Sounds like my DH too. He is so dramatic (LOL, coming from the girl who created a bit of drama herself this am!). I used to get annoyed and say "Why don't you ask if I'm ok?" and he just relies "well, you're clearly not ok". hahaha

Dh is also really bad at comforting me when I get hurt! If he hurts something, the whole world needs to stop (seriously-- he once got pissy w me and called his mother for sympathy instead when I apparently wasn't sympathetic enough when he stubbed his toe. His freaking toe.). But if I get hurt, I need to actively ask for help-- I've burned myself before and still had to google burn protocol myself, because when I asked him what to do he said he didn't know and went back to whatever he was doig. Siiiigh!

My DH would laugh too and then try to comfort me lol.

He has def gotten better! He was so bad at it when we first started dating so it took a lot of communicating so that he understands what I need from him in terms of comfort and consolation.

So, this morning I did something really stupid.

L threw a toy under my desk. The keyboard tray was extended, and my depth perception was, apparently, off. I smacked my forehead right in the corner of the tray. Which is metal. It hurt so bad I kinda lost my breath and cried a little. DH watched the whole thing happen. As I sat on the floor pouting all he did was say "OUCH" and then, after I stopped whining he came over and moved my head and looked at it and said "well, it's not bleeding!"

I was kind of hoping he would be all "OMG ARE YOU OK? DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU MIGHT DIE? SHOULD I TAKE YOU TO EMERG? CALL 911?"

I should update him on boo-boo protocol. He failed.

How would your SO have dealt with that kind of situation?
